My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hi, I'm Justin. I graduated from UIUC with a degree in Electrical Engineering with a minor in computer science and have since started working at a job in that field. I'm a little bit of a nerd when it comes to anything electronic. If it has a transistor, I like it.

I have a twin brother, which is pretty cool. I recently bought a house with my older brother (finally out of my parent's house!)

I'm a fairly logical person that likes puzzles and figuring out how things work, but I also have a creative side. I like to paint (I'm not very good) and take pictures (likewise), but I do it because I enjoy it. I like to mess around in photoshop and make 3D models on my computer.

I'm also kinda crafty and like to do different projects. I can't count the number of times I've burned myself on a hot glue gun. I like to make my own Halloween costumes and pride myself on accuracy.

My favorite holiday is Christmas because most of my family lives in the area and it's always a great time when we all get together.

I love everything to do with all kinds of animation.

I'm definitely a night person. Whenever it's the weekend or I have a vacation I fall into a second shift routine where I'm awake until 5 AM and sleep until noon. My family is worried that I am a vampire. (I'm not, but if I was, I would be the cool kind, not the sparkly twilight kind).

If you want to know anything else just ask and if I can answer it, I will. Otherwise I'll just make something up, I have a pretty vivid imagination.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I've been working as a software engineer at a great company for a couple of years now, and it's awesome. There are a lot of great people there who I can nerd out with about the technical specs of the newest electronics and I really like what I do there.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I'm really good at quoting movies and TV shows and pop culture trivia. I watch a ridiculous amount of TV and movies and spend way too much time on IMDB learning useless information.

I can make hours of time disappear in the blink of an eye when browsing reddit and youtube.

I'm pretty good at learning random talents and starting new hobbies. I can solve a rubik's cube, rip a phone book in half, juggle, make balloon animals, make origami models and probably some other things I'm forgetting.

I'm also really good at spending an inordinate amount of time researching any electronic equipment before I buy it. It took me around a month to finally buy a TV and that 50 inch Panasonic Plasma is working out fantastically.

I once read some advice that said "If women don't find you handsome, they should at least find you handy." So at the very least, ladies, you'll find me pretty handy. I'll try to fix anything that breaks and I have a pretty good success rate. I've also spent a lot of time doing reconstruction work with my Dad, so If there's electrical, plumbing, dry wall, flooring, painting, or if a deck needs building, I'm there.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm just guessing here, but the first thing that people notice about me might be my awesome sideburns. Actually, I'm 98% sure that is the truth because complete strangers often give me compliments. But, now that I think about it, it's almost always other guys that say anything so maybe I should rethink my facial hair decisions. It all started out with good intentions: I hoped that women would subconsciously associate me with wolverine and then Hugh Jackman and then be irrationally attracted to me, but I don't think it's quite working as planned. I don't know, is it working?

Update:
I'm currently trying out the whole clean shaven thing to mix it up a little bit, but I might fall back into my 'chops because I think my face looks weird without them.

Favorite Books: I'm all about fantasies, sci-fi, and mysteries. Some of my favorites are the Harry Potters, The Sword of Truth series, The Dresden Files, The Chronicles of Narnia, Ender's Game, His Dark Materials, Game of Thrones, Calvin and Hobbes, Angels and Demons, Greek Mythology, Viking Mythology, To Kill a Mockingbird and other classics. I'm always up for something new so recommend something and I'll check it out.

Favorite Movies: Oh, boy. Here we go. My favorite movie is The Shawshank Redemption(Bonus points if you know what my user name means. Hint: it's from this movie). Movies are a huge part of my life, and I watch more movies than anyone I know. Here's a few more of my favorites: Nolan's Batmans, Ratatouille and every other Pixar movie, I am Legend, The Departed, Love Actually, Lord of the Rings, The Hobbit, Gladiator, The Watchmen, Million Dollar Baby, Superbad, I Love you Man, The Hangover, Wanted, Taken, Slumdog Millionaire, Iron Man, Stardust, Die Hard, The Bond movies (old and new), Kiss Kiss Bang Bang, Hitch, Match Point, Sin City, the Disney Classics, Pirates of the Caribbean, the Harry Potters, You Can't Take it With You, It Happened One Night, any movie with Jimmy Stewart. And the list could go on forever, I will watch absolutely any movie and have to finish it no matter how bad it is.

Favorite TV Shows: Thank god for DVR. Lost, How I Met Your Mother, Big Bang Theory, Castle, Suits, White Collar, Seinfeld, Simpsons, Firefly, Dollhouse, Sherlock, 24, Burn Notice, Chuck, Eureka, House, Once Upon a Time, The Walking Dead, The Wire, The Office, Parks and Rec, Archer, Battlestar Gallactica, Community, Frasier, Party Down, Pushing Daisies, Scrubs, Spartacus, Dexter, Newsroom, True Blood, Friends, etc. etc.

Favorite Music: I like some of every kind of music. I like Third Eye Blind, the Stones, Michael Jackson, Springsteen, Queen, City & Colour, Dave Matthews Band, Dean Martin, Florence and the Machine, Matt and Kim, Foo Fighters, The Fray, George Strait, John Legend, Lonely Island, Mumford and Sons. There are plenty of others too, I listen to Rock, Pop, some Rap, Country, Jazz, you name it.

Favorite Food: Do Cool Ranch Doritos and Pepsi count as a meal? Either way, those, and cheese, Burgers, steak, pork, chicken, tacos. I like Italian, American, Chinese, and Mexican food. And anything and everything Pizza related, seriously, at least 76% of what I eat is pizza-like. Mainly because it's so easy to make and there are so many variations that I never get bored of it. I just got a slow cooker, so hopefully I'll start making some actual adult meals sometime soon.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

Friends
Netflix (I think I'm the only person left on the planet that still gets physical DVDs by mail)
Movies
XBox
Computer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I spend a lot of time thinking about what I would do in a zombie apocalypse. Ha, I'm just kidding... I've had a plan firmly documented for years now so there's no need to think about it anymore.

I like to think about what technological advances we'll have in the next 50 years and what would seem like normal everyday life for the next generations. Have you seen that commercial with the 5 year old asking her iPad "Google, how much does the Earth weigh?" It blows my mind that kids will look at me like I'm crazy when I tell them I had to manually push buttons on a strange device called a keyboard instead of simply talking to machines and having them understand me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I'm typically watching a movie, playing video games, doing one of my hobbies or I'm out with my friends just hanging around or drinking.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Hmm, remember all those movies I listed? I might have neglected to mention that I watch and actually enjoy a lot of Romantic Comedies. I like to watch them late at night right before I go to sleep. I don't know, they just get me pumped.

Ok, now for my TV secret. I watch a lot of HGTV. A lot. Whenever there's nothing on TV, I always fall back to HGTV and watch all the house hunting shows and remodeling/decorating shows because I'm super manly like that.
