My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Well, I came on here to meet and talk to new people, with the goal of making new friends. I'm fairly easy-going, mellow, and relaxed, but I'm serious when it counts. I love a good conversation, maybe over a beer or even a soda of some kind.

Anyway I'm not sure what else to write here that these other categories don't explain well enough. I guess the only thing I have left to say is that I'll generally only message people once. If I don't get a response, I'll just take it as a hint, and I'll disappear. Yeah I can guess how that sounds. i probably sound like a jerk saying it, but I think on this kind of site, it needs to be mentioned.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I keep busy. I do errands around the house, or running around town. I work. I do some volunteer work, hang with friends, listening to music, play some games, socializing, do some reading. Whatever. I get by alright. Life doesn't need to be overly complicated.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I hear I'm really good at cooking. Beyond that, let me get back to you. I don't think this is up to me to judge.

[update]
So I'm told I'm very good at making people laugh, and occasionally cheering people up when they need it. Another friend tells me that I am a good listener, and quite a few say I'm good at giving advice. Actually that's kind of a thing I do alot on the internet. I browse through advice sites and help where I can. Mostly dating and relationship stuff. Nothing fancy.

Another person recently told me that I have the gift of the gab, and went on to say that not only am I a talker, but I'm good at getting others to talk. Not sure if that's a good thing or a bad thing.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't know. Any number of things. That I'm tall. I'm kind of a big guy. That I have a kinda weird sense of humour, maybe? I should probably ask about that.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

In an effort to keep things somewhat short, I decided to limit each category to three selections. For the most part, though, my top faves tend to shuffle around with my moods. So while my favourites may include the following. They are not limited to what is seen.

Books:
I have an eclectic taste in books. Though I don't always read novels as much as I should, I do like things from fiction, philosophy, strategy or some history.

Crooked Little Vein by Warren Ellis
Coraline by Neil Gaiman
The Book of Five Rings/Go Rin No Sho by Miyamoto Musashi

Graphic Novels:
I included graphic novels because I think they're a different medium, entirely. I like all kinds of stuff, from indie, to horror, to crime, but I will always appreciate the usual superhero genre. Modern legends of gods in spandex.

Watchmen by Alan Moore & Dave Gibbons
Blankets by Craig Thompson
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller

Manga:
Yep. I read manga. I added it, because to me like graphic novels, I see it as a different medium than books, or comics or graphic novels. For manga, I tend to like comedy more than anything else.

Azumanga Daioh by Kiyohiko Azuma
Sakigake!! Cromartie High School by Eiji Nonaka
Detroit Metal City by Kiminori Wakasugi

Webcomics:
Continuing along my comic/graphic trend, I added webcomics to show my sense of humour. I like to casually read webcomics from time to time. Here are three that I enjoy. Do give them a read.

Manly Guys Doing Manly Things ( thepunchlineismachismo.com )
Ménage à 3 ( menagea3.net ) [NSFW]
Penny-Arcade ( penny-arcade.com )

Movies:
I like so many kinds of movies. Classics, Crime, Noir, Comedy, Action, Sci-Fi, Fantasy, Thrillers, Horror, Drama, Romance, Espionage, Grindhouse, whatever... I'm a huge film buff, so picking out three was really hard. I'll watch anything so long as it's good.

Seven Samurai (1954)
Ghostbusters (1984)
Stephen King's The Shining (1997)

Animated Movies:
I've always been of the opinion that animated features need not be for children. Things like Batman: Year One, or Les Triplettes de Belleville. However, they can be. As a man with passion for art, and film, a good animated feature can greatly impress me.

The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
The Incredibles (2004)
How To Train Your Dragon (2010)

Anime: (Movies)
Admittedly, all my selections here are Miyazaki. There's a reason for that. Hayao Miyazaki is one of the finest director's and animators, in Anime, that I can think of. Each of his works are breathtaking marvels.

Castle in the Sky/Tenku no Shiro Lapyuta (1986)
My Neighbor Totoro/Tonari no Totoro (1988)
Spirited Away/Spiriting Away of Sen and Chihiro (2001)

Shows:
Like anything else, my favourite TV shows, have always been eclectic, but also always well written, exciting, and thought provoking. Picking my three favourites was not hard, here, and Buffy and Doctor Who are about as eclectic as my tastes.

Buffy The Vampire Slayer (1997–2001)
Doctor Who (2005–present)
Titus (2000-2002)

Animated Series:
Now, here's where my more playful side kicks in. I like watching cartoons. Laugh all you like. I do. I still have favourites. I still watch new ones, too. Deal with it. They're fun.

Batman: The Animates Series (1992-2000)
The Spectacular Spider-Man: Animated Series (2008-2009)
Avatar: the Last Airbender/The Legend of Korra
(2005-2008, 2012-present)

Anime: (Series)
I love anime as well. I have for decades now. It's such a different way of doing things. Such a different tone, style and way of writing, much like the manga they're usually based. I love it. The three I mentioned here are faves of mine. Two of which, much more recent than the first.

Fushigi Yugi: The Mysterious Play
(1995-1996, 1996, 1997-1998, 2001-2002)
Tiger & Bunny (2011)
Steins;Gate (2011)

Music:
Oh, god, I can't even begin to cover all that I love about music. I listen to just about anything out there, except for teenage girl, bubblegum pop. Looking at me, most write me off as a rocker. I kinda am. Rock is my first choice (as are it's many bastard children) but I still listen to everything else. Good music is good music.

Alice Cooper
Cee-Lo Green
Joan Jett

Food:
I love to cook, and I love to eat. I love good food like anything else. My favourite foods are hard to pick out, because I love so many kinds of foods. Still here are three I came up with.

Unadon/Unagi
Cheeseburger Soup
Banana Cream Pie

Well, I guess my efforts to keep things short went to hell pretty fast.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Food.
Drinks.
Oxygen.
Shelter.
Sleep.

Uh... Five. BLAST! What do I put for number Six? Love?
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Life. What to do next. Maybe a goal for the week. After that probably drifting in and out of thoughts about arts, such as music, poetry, movies, tv shows I like. When thinking of life, I generally think of the number 42.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Usually, just hanging with friends. Socializing. Maybe drinking, maybe watching a movie. I don't know. Just spending time with friends or loved ones, for whatever that might mean at the time.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm not an overly private sort of person. I'm an open book. I am willing to talk about alot of things. If I'm not willing to talk about it at the time, it's not because it's private. It's not because it's a secret. It's more likely because it's painful, depressing, or unpleasant, and who really wants to talk about that stuff if it's just gonna bring the mood down for all of us, right? Anyway, I'm willing to talk about just about anything, and if you want to know something, feel free to ask.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You should message me if you're just looking to hang out, have some fun, share a few laughs, and maybe a couple drinks. Message me if you're looking to meet new friends like I am. It could be fun. I'm usually trying to think of something fun to do, so if you want to do something fun let's put our heads together and see what happens.

You should also message me if you want to go to the theatrical release of the Doctor Who 50th Anniversary. Because as it stands, right now, I have access to an extra ticket.
