My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm pretty average in most respects. I really enjoy learning how things work on a technical level, which is why I'm studying music and computer science at UCSC right now - graduating in June. Outside of school, I really just hang out with my friends - we'll watch movies, play video games, go hiking, go down to the archery range, or keep ourselves otherwise occupied (Sky High, Planet Granite, start a sports/board game, etc.) Here in Santa Cruz a lot of my friends graduated and moved away last year, so if you'd want to chat or hang out I'm probably down.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Right now I'm finishing up my degree (double majoring in Music and Computer Science), but long term I have no idea. Post-graduation I plan on working and saving up for a while, then hopefully spending some time travelling - a friend and I have a someday plan of motorcycling around North and South America.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Jumping rapidly between short-lived obsessions over specific music, computer science stuff, etc. As a result there are a bunch of things I'm sort of okay at, but not really anything I'm super good at.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Books - I'm a huge fan of old-school scifi, particularly Asimov and Heinlein. Aside from that I like a lot of pop-science stuff like Oliver Sacks and Malcolm Gladwell. My favorite book right now is John Dies at the End from David Wong, though.

Movies - I'd say I have pretty low standards for movies in general, I like almost everything. That being said, I'm a sucker for scifi in particular. My favorites are The Matrix, Prometheus, Ghost in the Shell, Blade Runner, stuff like that.

Shows - Right now I'm working my way through the Walking Dead. Other than that, I like Arrested Development, Seinfeld, Dexter, Parks and Recreation, Misfits, etc.

Music (in alphabetical order) - Animals as Leaders, Block Party, Between the Buried and Me, Cake, the Cold Napoleons, The Dear Hunter, Dorian Concept, Dream Theater, Envy on the Coast, Fall of Troy, Forgive Durden, Gavin Castleton, Giraffes? Giraffes!, Julian Casablancas/The Strokes, OK Go, Panic at the Disco, Paul Gilbert, Periphery, the Raconteurs, Radiohead, Ratatat, the Safety Fire, Sky Sanctuary, Tera Melos, Timothy Armstrong, etc. There's more that I'll listen to, but that's most of it. I like progressive metal in particular because of the interesting rhythms and harmonic structures.

Food - I'm not picky. I'll eat just about anything, and don't have any favorites in particular.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
- Friends (mine specifically)
- The internet
- My current obsession
- Music
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
The future - mine a little, but also just in general. Advances in technology fascinate me, and I think we live at a pretty interesting time where our developing tech is having heavier social implications than ever before. I could talk about my thoughts on transhumanism and advances in robotics forever (but won't unless prompted).
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends or rushing to get an assignment done.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have literally no self control when it comes to candy. I once ate, like, 6 pounds of hot tamales in 3 days.
