I love to make friends and family laugh with my dry wit or my crazy impressions or anything else that catches my fancy. At the same time, I'm a very sensitive person, and I enjoy talking about how things make me feel, and listening to others talk about that type of stuff as well.

I have a wild imagination, and I love to tell stories.

I have an amazing family, and I love to spend time with them.

I'm also something of a grammar nut. I'll mark up a newspaper with all the errors I find!

I'm polite to a fault. I hold doors open for women and even for other men; I like to say "Sir" and "Ma'am," "please" and "thank you," and so forth. Anyone under 30 who sees me doing these things thinks I'm out of my mind.

That being said, I have no tolerance for the large number of crazy drivers in Chicago. I honestly think their minds have been warped by video games, and they genuinely believe that they'll get "points" by cutting me off at the last second!

I am caring, a geek, and proud of it

I have a BA in Communications, and I'm still working towards being a screenwriter. I also volunteer at my church, running the puppet ministry and helping out with the sound board.

Sensing when people are down, and knowing whether to try to cheer them up or to just comfort them.

It took me a long time, but I finally thought of something for this:

Sometimes when I'm at an event or convention or something, and I'm just standing there, people will come up and ask me questions about the event, as if I'm in charge! That would happen when I worked at a hotel too. Granted, I was wearing a full suit and tie there, but they wouldn't just think I was a worker - people assumed more than once that I was the manager of the hotel!

I guess I have one of those faces that says, "I'm in charge here."

MUSIC: Almost any and all 80's music; some Contemporary Christian; symphonic movie soundtracks; a lot of classic rock. So, specifically: Bon Jovi, Tears for Fears, Cyndi Lauper, Poison, Sixpence None the Richer, Casting Crowns, Rebecca St. James, John Williams, and the Monkees. Electic enough for ya? ;)

The future, and how to make something of my life - not necessarily money and fame, but how to live a life with purpose, and how to be fulfilled.

I don't see a really good place to put this, but I feel I need to say it. I cannot stand it when married guys, or even just guys with girlfriends, spend all their time talking about OTHER women--women on TV or in the movies, women in the shopping mall, etc. I see this happen a lot. How degrading! How insulting! How rude! It's so hard to meet just the right someone, and those who actually find someone are going to treat her like THAT?

Sorry, guys. If you have a woman in your life, SHE should always be the most beautiful and important woman in the world!

Catching up on TV shows I missed by watching them online.

I hate sports. I just couldn't possibly care less about them. I know that's a violation of the "guy code," and that women seem to be immensely attracted to the kind of guy who watches his games on Sunday with a beer in one hand. But look at it this way: You will not lose me every time a new "season" starts! I will not bore you with arcane and meaningless statistics of every player that has ever lived! On a Sunday afternoon, we can watch WHATEVER YOU WANT! :)

You also want to meet your best friend on this planet, and then marry them. You want to live a godly life, but realize that you're not perfect. You work and live responsibly, but also understand the value of taking time out to cuddle on a couch and just talk. You enjoy (or will at least tolerate) my corny jokes. You like honesty and don't want "games" in a relationship. And most importantly, if you realize that love isn't just hormones, and it isn't even just a feeling - love is sticking with the other person no matter what, even on those days when they drive you crazy.
