My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I recently moved to Alameda. The past four years had me hunting icebergs from a C-130. Now they decided to move me here to respond to pollution spills. They call my type Duck Scrubbers.

I can be a little quiet at first, but that tends to vanish quickly once I get to know the people I'm with. I'm a nerd, and proud of it. With my friends, I'm probably playing some nerdy game at a comic shop or watching the newest superhero movie. Yes, I can be quiet, but I'm also a huge dork and will switch over to loudmouth at the drop of a hat if something interests me. Some of these things include: science, animals, video games, and crude humor.

My idea of a perfect night is being with a few really great friends and sharing jokes over a beer or two. I've been out dancing and clubbing, but that's not really my thing. Walking into a loud dance club basically says don't fucking talk to me, let's just drink booze and rub out bodies together sexually. In public.

Seriously, it's all about who you are with. Being locked in an empty room with the right group of people will usually make for a better time than going out to a club where the music is so loud we can't hear each other talk. And at any rate my dance moves suck, so I kinda have to fall back on making word-noises from my mouth-hole.

I am looking for a woman to spend some time with, someone who will click with my eccentric personality. I'm one of those guys who will actually read people's profiles before messaging them. Yeah, I look at the pictures, too, but mostly I need somebody who can say something interesting and original about herself. If a girl describes herself as down to earth and easygoing, I probably won't even bother. These are the same people who say on their resume that their greatest personal weakness is being such a darn perfectionist!

But most importantly, I need a woman who is open with her feelings. The last two woman I dated were polar opposites in this regard. One could sometimes fly off the handle when she was upset, and the other was always pleasant and agreeable, even a self-described 'man pleaser.' The former made for a better relationship, and we are actually still friends, probably because we were able to address problems as soon as they arose.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I can be smart in unusual ways, and I'm still trying to find the thing that makes the most use of it. I'm in the Coast Guard right now, though I recently earned a degree in biology. I might stay through to retirement, or I might try to get back into the sciences. I wouldn't complain about either path.

My reenlistment time is coming up this summer. It's tricky applying for jobs while I'm still committed to the Armed Forces. I'm reluctant to leave such a comfy job unless I get I know what I'll be doing next, but I might not get anything until I'm out. I mean, I could be doing forensic analysis for the FBI, or helping the CDC against the latest pandemic, who knows? Maybe I should just take that leap of faith.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Science and math are my strong points. I'm also not too bad at creative writing, which I have tried a few times for a home D&D campaign.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm quiet or a total loudmouth. It depends on the company, really.
