My self-summary
I'm never entirely satisfied if I know a word but not its etymology. I'm driven to discover why Kentucky Fried Chicken was renamed to KFC*, and which nation invented foosball**. I am, in the broadest (and possibly shallowest) sense, a scientist-philosopher, striving always to understand the Reasons for Things.

I admire art in many of its forms, and design even more. I enjoy dabbling (playing guitar, piano; sketching) but have to begrudgingly admit I'm not really any good at it. But that's not the point.

I am a gamer: be it poker or badminton, pub quiz or Mario Kart; if there is a competitive aspect, I'm in my element. It's not about the winning (although that helps), it's about always being better than I was yesterday.

* Not over the use of the word "Chicken", or even "Fried", but in fact over the word "Kentucky".

** England, of course, just like all international sports.
What I’m doing with my life
I've recently moved to London, trying to get a feel for what there is to do around here (first impression: everything, which is almost as paralysing as having nothing to do), spending far too much time doing techy things and not nearly enough doing fun, relaxing things.
I’m really good at
Guessing how many points an answer's worth in Pointless.
The first things people usually notice about me
Spoilers! First impressions count. They don't count if I'm telling you what that should be.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Breaking Bad, The Wire, House of Cards (UK over US, although US was good too). I enjoyed Game of Thrones' third season more than the first and second; I think because I read the books after the second season.

Community, Arrested Development; Blackadder, Yes Minister. Look Around You and Brass Eye are both masterpieces.
The six things I could never do without
Internet.
Saturdays.
Marmite.
Cocktails.
Arguments.
And a good umbrella.
On a typical Friday night I am
Either in the pub with friends, or settled up in front of the TV with my cat in my lap.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I very rarely know what I'm talking about.
