Taking on numerous challenges intellectually and physically keeps
me entertained which is an important factor that drives my actions.
Traveling has been a major part of my life since I was 20. I love
discovering new places, cultures, food, sports and meeting the
incredible people and philosophies that fill the spaces in between.
I love staying active, my free time is currently filled with
fighting (I just got back from Thailand, where I took my first pro
fight against a Thai woman with over 50 fights, I went 5 rounds and
lost on decision), salsa dancing, rock climbing and designing a
blood test for Apoe, a gene related to Alzheimer's disease.
Also...I have a vice, it sound ridiculous but I am a very
passionate person. I care much more about what I am doing and its
positive effects than how much money I make.
Which leads to me over volunteering. No seriously I have had
multiple people try to convince me to stop. But I love my life and
until that changes I think this stays. I have volunteered on
research projects in Australia; in orphanages in several countries
including one for children with special needs in Peru which at the
time did not even have running water and was actually located on a
garbage dump (1 woman taking care of 13 kids, she is incredible);
working in reservations in the Peruvian and Ecuadorian Amazon;
being an assistant to a local medican woman in Puyo Ecuador; being
a care taker for 5 juvenile huapo rojos (monkey) in a small
sanctuary who were being trafficked to zoos abroad; Working with
adults with special needs; beach clean ups; primate projects;
dolphin projects; Political research initiatives(investigating
superPacs); and lending a free hand in labs including a friend of
mine who is working to develop viable stem cell therapy.
There are more but I think you get the point. There is so much
potential for good, I would hate to limit myself by demanding
payment when the best projects usually receive minuscule or no
funding. I care more to radiate the change I wish to see. I have
seen first hand how kindness resonates.
