I'm best described by what I'm not: I'm not closed-minded, I'm not ignorant, I'm not a dick, I'm not real handy with tools, I'm not a teetotaller, I'm not ... OK this is harder than I thought. I really like talking -- REALLY -- about anything and everything. I consider myself an intellectual and I don't shy away from that (unlike many in the Republican party, for example). I work in the media and so I'm very plugged in to politics and current events, so feel free to engage me on that kind of stuff. Unless you happen to be a Sarah Palin fan or you think the Iraq war was a good idea. Then I don't really want to talk to you.

Also I'm not really sure how my questions answered have led OKCupid's team of robots to think I'm:

I think I must have answered some of those dumb math questions correctly and now it thinks I'm a mathematician. I assure you I am not.

What I’m doing with my life

I work at a newspaper doing page desgn. It's really rewarding and I love it, but I do kinda wish it paid better. I have two cats, Franklin and Eleanor Roosevelt. They're gorgeous and lovely and friendly but if you're really allergic, I figured I'd better get that out in front of y'all.

There is a part of me that goes "oh crap, you're 27 and you don't have a wife/fiancee" but really I try not to worry about it, I take a Buddhist approach to the universe at large and fretting about having a steady galpal doesn't really fit. But actually having a steady galpal WOULD be nice, I admit.
