I've recently started voice acting. You can hear some of my recent work in the band PHOX's video EP Confetti http://vimeo.com/61007003
I narrated a whiteboard animation for the Orange County Transit Authority http://vimeo.com/85755324
and voiced an angry old man for The Weekly Standard http://vimeo.com/89748028
I've even done VO for a sports (SPORTS!) video! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j61yYa9jFLs
and explainer videos for websites like buddyfied.com https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uUdtrGFZgMY
Also, for shits and grins I recorded Dr. Girlfriend from The Venture Bros reading an excerpt from 50 Shades of Grey https://soundcloud.com/ryan-schremp/dr-mrs-the-monarch-reads-a
I host a Let's Play channel on youtube at http://www.youtube.com/yalpsteampunked
I'm currently starting a company with my friend Matt that specializes in simple websites for bands. We've done www.phoxband.com and the new site for DJ Michal Menert.
I'm in two bands. One is called Sparklefuck where I play bass and manage the band, and the other is called Made of Blocks. In addition to these two bands I also manage the bands The Moguls and One Last Run.
I randomly became a promoter? I started booking shows that I wanted to see because lots of artists I really enjoy tended to skip over Madison. Most recently, I brought The Protomen to town after four years of not having been here and we sold out The Frequency! Other artists I'm working with include Jenny Owen Youngs, and Bit Brigade. This has lead lots of local bands to ask me to help them put together shows, and has lead to The Inferno giving me a regular concert series on the last Friday of every month which is tied in to my radio show, Earworms.
I used to host a radio show on Max Ink Radio. I did the show for over a year, and when time allows we have live performances that we film and turn in to videos on the Wood Room series on YouTube.
I'm technically on the writing staff for Maximum Ink magazine, though I've only written two articles for them so far. I was the first to print an interview with the local up-and-coming band PHOX. It was my first printed article, and my first cover story. When time permits, I'll be writing album reviews and doing more band interviews in the future.
I host a weekly show at The Inferno on Wednesdays. It's a mashup of all of the old individual Wednesday nights at Inferno, so Karaoke, Open Mic, and Can't Unsee Net TV (Silly internet videos).
Aside from all that, I'm a web contractor during the day.
Books: Creatures of light and darkness, the chronicles of amber series, jPod.
Movies: Charlie Kaufman movies (Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Adaptation, Being John Malkovich) Coen Brothers movies (The Big Lebowski, Raising Arizona, Fargo), Casshern, 300, Hot Fuzz, Shaun of the Dead, Pirates, Ocean's 1x, Tron (especially with the assistance of special-guest RiffTrax by Jonathan Coulton with Paul & Storm), Inglorious Basterds, Serenity, Wall-E, Iron Man, The Host, Tokyo, Zombieland, Moon, District 9, The Brothers Bloom, Drag me to Hell, Campy horror flicks, genuinely scary horror flicks (there are so few that are actually more than just a two-hour long series of internet screamers.), Hackers (no self respecting geek can say no to Hackers. It's a guilty pleasure of the industry. :D)
TV Shows: The State, Bored to Death, The Venture Brothers, Firefly, Scrubs, Mythbusters, Heroes, My Name is Earl, The Real Ghostbusters, House MD, Fairly Oddparents, Invader Zim, Teen Titans, Futurama, Captain N, Cowboy Bebop, Dead Like Me, Boondocks, Pushing Daisies, How I Met Your Mother, Top Gear, QI, Never Mind The Buzzcocks (the Simon Amstel years.).
Music: Everything from the Man in Black to Black Flag.. But if I were to choose some recent (and not so recent) notable favorites, I'd have to list Estradasphere (and pretty much all bands associated with them), my beloved extended family PHOX, Alamaailman Vasarat, Diablo Swing Orchestra, Muse, Modem, NOFX, Jonathan Coulton. It would take an impossibly long time to list them all.
