My self-summary
Hey Guys,

My name is Patrick and I am an intelligent, down to earth guy living and working in Downtown Toronto.

I enjoy keeping busy, Whether it's chilling with friends, going for a coffee, heading to the park to play Frisbee, taking off for the beach, playing board games, or something completely random, extremely geeky, or incredibly adventurous, I'm usually game.

I'm also not averse to a quiet evening, especially with the right person, whether that be cuddling up and watching movies or putting my competitive hat on and hitting the xbox. (Note to self: Buy competitive hat) (2nd note to self: Please don't literally hit xbox). A Couple things that I don't really get into are the whole club scene and heavy partying, a couple drinks are o.k. now and then but I don't really enjoy getting wasted.

I'm a big baseball fan. During the summer I like to hit up SkyDome for quite a few Blue Jays games. I'm also on a slow-pitch softball team and have a lot of fun playing and going to the inevitable post-game pub patios.
What I’m doing with my life
I enjoy my career. I work as an analyst in the public sector.
I’m really good at
I'm pretty good at strategy games. Sometimes I need to make a conscious effort to tone down my competitiveness.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm not really sure. I've never been someone for in depth self analysis. Maybe I should ask someone right after we meet. As long as they put down the torches and pitch-forks long enough to answer.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I'm kind of a geek, (if the phrase "kind of' is stretched to its breaking point). The show I am currently into is the BBC series Sherlock. Here is the complete list of what I have ranked as 5 stars in my Netflix taste profile (in the order they happen to be listed by Netflix): Superbad, Weeds, Battlestar Galactica, Donnie Darko, Firefly, Crouching Tiger Hidden Dragon, The Hurt Locker, Memento, Gattaca, Slumdog Millionaire, Dark City, Breaking Bad, Arrested Development, Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and The Walking Dead. My Favorite Show of all time is The Wire, but as Netflix and HBO are at war I didn't get the opportunity to give it 5 stars as well (I have all the DVDs anyways).

As to books, I'm currently taking a break from reading the "A Song of Ice and Fire" series. I've read up to the end of "A Storm of Swords" but realized if you get too far a head of the TV show too many secret start getting revealed that I'd rather be in the dark about when I see on screen. I really liked 'A Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy" and "Lord of the Rings". Lately, the fiction I read is usually stuff that friends recommend, (i.e. harass me until I read.) Once I start reading I usually enjoy it.

Some of the books I've read lately are non-fiction. Stuff like: Freakanomics The Tipping Point, Unweaving the Rainbow, and Money-ball.

I like most foods and love doing a lot of food exploration trying new things. I also love my coffees and teas.
The six things I could never do without
Lets see... my Family, my Friends, my Android Phone... Wait lets try that again... phone, family, friends, metropass, shoes, baseball season.

PS: What...we're listing stuff now. What is this Facebook??
I spend a lot of time thinking about
I'm an urban issues geek. I think a lot about city planning and transit. I'm also love science (especially: evolutionary biology, physics, and astronomy), and technology (especially mobile technology). I also like to think about the intersection of my interests and politics. Its quite easy to draw me into long winded passionate discussions on things like: copyright law, privacy, or almost anything.
On a typical Friday night I am
During the summer I play softball on Fridays and usually follow that up by hitting a pub patio with friends.
