My self-summary
Intellectually curious, thoroughly decent gent (or so my dear mother tells me).

Friends and family are important. Career is too.

Bit of a mix: I generally don't take things too seriously but I am sensible most of the time and not much of a thrill seeker. Hopefully not a massive square though and try to liven things up making jokes that only amuse myself.

I have an alarming tendency for deep, meaningful conversations. I love awkward situations and irreverent humour.

Smugly, I consider myself something of a moral, principled person (but not in a scary way) and have an allergic reaction to selfish people or self interest.

I've been known to be quite the nerd and have isolated myself in a middle-class educated bubble so that's nice for me.

I'm fabulously rubbish when it comes pop culture and only moderately good with spontaneity. I’d be more at home discussing the fiscal deficit or geopolitics than X-factor or whatevs it is that the little people watch these days...

Overall, I’m very ambitious but this means having a good, happy family life, lots of fun and all balanced against a meaningful, productive career.
What I’m doing with my life
A couple of years ago, I completed a PhD and moved to London for a change of direction. Since then I have worked at a start-up and am now an analyst doing numbery things at a huge tech company. Love it.
The six things I could never do without
iPhone (sorry)
Pepsi Max

Clever (and interesting) people
I spend a lot of time thinking about
The moral bankruptcy of the song 'In the Summertime' by Mungo Jerry. Also the name Mungo Jerry.
But, good lord, it is a catchy song.
