At the moment I'm teaching in Prague, but I've spent most of the last 7 years in Birmingham, apart from 1 amazing year in Paris. I'd like to go back there sometime soon to live.

Arguing things which I don't actually believe in, so people whose opinions I share often come away with the impression that I disagree with them. I am a pathological other-side-of-the-argument-seer.

I don't ask them. I'm scared of the response.

Books: I've just discovered Kundera, who I really like. Apart from that, Sartre, Orwell, Joseph Heller, Kerouac and Malraux if I'm in a 'serious literature' mood; or the Dexter books, Robert Rankin, Terry Pratchett for something a bit lighter. I also like polemical books on current affairs.

Movies: I'm going to include TV, as I'm currently obsessed with The Wire, apart from that I'm a big Tarantino fan, I also like French New Wave films (esp. Godard before he went mental), Un Monde Sans Pitié, L'Auberge Espagnole, George Romero's 'Dead' films, Sunshine, My girlfriend's got me into Ghibli films a bit too.
