(The ship analogy) There is a ship at sea that goes where it
pleases regardless of bad weather (there is no such thing), only
that it should arrive at its destination and has done so with notes
and pictures taken. It requires only wind and will. It will forever
be surprised by the fact of itself.
Paradise is fifty degrees with a light breeze. It has coffee,
skee-ball, Tom Waits,
horse racing, apples. Wind flows
through open car windows and Diet Coke and correctional typewriters
are at one's fingertips. But honestly, I'm happy anywhere I go.
My days have been quite refreshing as of late. Music school didn't
pan out. I quit smoking two years ago after 13 years of delicious
Lucky Strikes. A poor decision forced me to move to St. Paul where
I've made my home for the past two and a half years, quit drinking
and started exercising regularly.
St. Paul has my heart- that's for
sure. I love to photograph her. I like bar trivia and the winnings
that cover the tab. Life is good! I'm at ease in my studio
apartment above an antique shop, surrounded by my typewriter,
guitars, books, music and a pretty decently sized kitchen where I
cook most of my meals, keep up on horse racing and draw with nib
and ink. I meet with friends when I feel like it. I go out or I
don't. I'm enjoying every second of it. ::wink::
Selling OTHER people in print for electronic dating services but
dumbfounded that my own sounds so rediculous. I'm also good at
catching things when I accidentally drop them or knock them over,
dealing with crazy or drunk people, stopping fights without any
physical means (I talk my way through crazy), driving in winter,
driving in reverse and parallel parking ANYTHING. And just watch me
get your car out of its snow trap. I'm pretty versatile in the
kitchen. I can make a meal out of the scarcest or most
unconventional remnants you can find. But find me the good stuff
and you're in for a treat.
My mustache, my laugh, my speech, the faces I make, my look. I seem
to be some sort of novelty for passersby and folks sitting across
the room. The girl who brought me my food at Noodles asked me my
name and told me I seem mysterious. I'm not there to hang out. I
just eat. Compelling!!

Without a Monday through Friday routine job I don't worry about

You find life to be interesting and you like yourself- a solid
foundation after which, everything else is easy and looks great and
you can focus on whatever matters most, like corralling your very
own mustachioed, bartending, van driving, true blue, life loving
fella. You don't have to know what you want to do with your life
and you don't have to be looking for a plan. Knowing who you are is
enough- and very attractive at that.
