Single, with a grown-up family, but still working and enjoying the commitment, facing challenges and stepping up to the mark where possible. I would class myself as independent, but in need of new friends and greater happiness.

I'm easy going, shy but friendly, easy to talk to, with many hobbies which keep me indoors too much. Life is too short to spend it alone and locked away.

I've enjoyed adventurous moments - taking the opportunity to fire and drive a steam loco, taking a hot-air balloon ride, and riding motorcycles - riding, not pillion! I enjoy a challenge, and am happy to learn and experience new pursuits.

The world is small, but extremely interesting, particularly as the children depend less and less on me. Now I'd like to enjoy some new adventures and experiences with new friends, with the possibility of a romance and companionship before I become too old to enjoy everything!

Knitting, sewing, embroidery, cross stitching. I'm a jack-of-all-trades, but master of none! I like to attempt new skills - who knows what I could be capable of?

It used to be my long legs, and I try to keep them trim and shapely even now.

I love to read! I devour books. Sci-fi and fantasy genres in particular, sometimes a good thriller or an easy to read (or erotic) romance, depending on my mood.
My favourite movies are in a similar vein, although I really enjoy comedies too.
Musical taste is varied and wide, from blues to heavy metal and classical. Not overly keen on opera though.
Favourite food...chinese, balti, curries. All time favourite has to be home-made cauliflower cheese!

My computer - how else could I access this site? Browsing, reading e-books, writing, playing games, eBay hunting, the list is endless.
Coffee - keeps me awake, black, white, fresh or instant - I'm easy to please with my coffee - full fat please! Relentless if I want a stimulating cold drink.
Books - which allow me to escape to new worlds and live another life, past or future for a while.
Sunshine - makes me feel happy and healthy. I feel the cold...bbrrr!
Specs - I can't see much without them these days!
Memories - they make me who I am, and can never be taken away.

We all wish to change our lives in some way, and there's little we can do about the past. The future lies ahead and each person we meet has an influence on coming days, some for good and some not so good, but changing our horizons accordingly.
Just like good memories, sunshine keeps us warm and vibrant, healthy and glowing. Good times with good friends bring happiness into the mix. Happiness should be shared around.

usually working until 10pm, after which I go home to do household chores or sit at my computer to browse/play/read. On Friday nights when I'm not working, I would love to listen to live music, see a film, or enjoy a good meal out with pleasant company.
