I'm a fairly optimistic type.... independent, but respectful-- loyal; heartfelt and sometimes funny.
I'm looking for a woman who can appreciate life.
Compassion for others a +. My interests include people and animals, and all living things.
I work in the social services field where I've been for seven years, and I study writing at the UCLA Extension.
I've done a lot of things in life, and particularly liked being a sports writer at the Santa Monica Outlook and LA Exeminer, a news writer, and radio journalist; a book seller at the "mystical' Bodhi Tree, and being a peace and justice activist.
I've traveled; walked cities of Tokyo, Managua, hitchhiked to Skopje after walking Athens; taken a train thru England in Winter, to Glasgow from London, and the Faslene Peace Camp-- walked Rio, Vienna, London, Mexico, Zurich, Bern, Tel Aviv, and Dubrovnik. I've been in much of the US and some of the South, and I'm from Omaha.
Here in SoCal, I travel by light rail, Amtrak, by walking, bus, bicycle, or car. (Once I took public transportation back from Anza Borrego desert, to prove to myself it could be done - hint: LA via San Diego will get you home).
Am decidedly left wing, but as someone once said--I'm not necessarily trying to change the world, but am more interested trying to keep it from changing me.
