My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
My interests include people and animals, music and nature.

I work in the social services field where I've been for several years. (Tho I've worked in different jobs in my life, and particularly liked being a sports writer at the Santa Monica Outlook and LA Examiner, a news writer, and radio journalist; a book seller at the Bodhi Tree, and being a peace and justice activist).

I'm optimistic.... independent, loyal, heartfelt and sometimes funny. I'm looking for a woman who can appreciate life, and
has time for a relationship

I've traveled; walked cities of Tokyo, Managua, hitchhiked to Skopje after walking Athens; taken a train thru England in Winter, to Glasgow from London, and the Faslene Peace Camp-- walked Rio, Vienna, London, Mexico, Zurich, Bern, Tel Aviv, and Dubrovnik. I've been in much of the US and some of the South, and I'm from Omaha.

Here in SoCal, I travel by light rail, Amtrak, by walking, bus, bicycle, or car. (Once I took public transportation back from Anza Borrego desert, to prove to myself it could be done - hint: LA via San Diego will get you home).

Am decidedly left wing, but as someone once said--I'm not necessarily trying to change the world, but am more interested trying to keep it from changing me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Welcome little Butternut, my new rescue dog, pictured in the photo section here. I also enjoy writing, working, and going out with friends to special events. I like to grow cactus, and have a small porch of cacti. Franklin Canyon, in LA, is a favorite haunt. Sometimes I go camping in the desert and forest, love driving to Santa Barbara or San Luis-- to the Redwoods or a national park.

I've managed small non-profits in the past. Now, I'm working for a fine local non-profit which serves the homeless and low income population. I read, walk, go to movies, and sometimes dine out. I like radio--not much commercial TV.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Knowing what direction I'm walking,
popping popcorn in a pan,
and sometimes writing letters to the editor.

I love to cook stir fry and soups.
I like organic everything, including steamed vegetables.
And I like LA's Philippe's, Le Saigon - in WLA,
and Labels and Nicks, the latter two both on Pico.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
That I'm not looking into my phone while walking down the street.
