My self-summary
Funny thing, change. How it sneaks up on you in those dark, neglected areas of your life and bitch slaps the hell out of you just when you were feeling all comfortable. Still, no matter what punches life throws, I find myself looking for the rainbows and kittens (which, in my case, involves dreaming up cynical little life stories for passers-by while sipping martinis, and other such nonsense I should be too old for but probably never will be). I try not to take the little things too seriously and ask only that people be honest with themselves. Saves us all a lot of pain, that.
What I’m doing with my life
I am trying my damnedest to pursue my bliss. It changes from time to time, and shit sometimes gets in the way, but alternate routes can be just as exciting. I spend a lot of time doing crossword puzzles alone in bars.
I’m really good at
Is it too arrogant to say that I'm really good at just about everything? Because I am... Jack of all trades, master of none, as it were... except pottery. I suck at pottery. And public speaking. I am, however, really good at Tetris.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
The following is, by no means, an exhaustive list.

- The Cryptonomicon by Neal Stephenson
- Ishmael and The Story of B by Daniel Quinn
- Les Miserables by Victor Hugo
- Atlas Shrugged by Ayn Rand (I have such a crush on Francisco d'Anconia)
- The Doomsday Book by Connie Willis
- Jurassic Park by Michael Crichton (first novel I ever read, at the age of 5, and again at 8 years, because I didn't really get it the first time)
- Young Adult literature

- Brazil
- Watership Down
- Baraka
- The Shawshank Redemption
- Labyrinth
- Brigadoon and Seven Brides for Seven Brothers
- Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves (I may have had this one memorized at one point)

TV Shows:
- Avatar: The Last Airbender
- Firefly
- Red Dwarf
- Honestly, I would much rather watch the Discovery and History channels 15 years ago, or the ones about forensic science.

- The Pixies
- Sigur Ros
- The Chameleons
- Other Lives
- The National
- Mindless Self Indulgence
- Edward Sharpe & the Magnetic Zeros
- Wolfsheim
- Pinback
- Maps & Atlases
... are just 10 of the CDs I currently have in my car.

I will eat almost anything, especially if there's a cultural context for it.
The six things I could never do without
All you really need to survive is a machete and a magnesium flint stick.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the universe, and everything. I very much like to make connections and solve puzzles.
On a typical Friday night I am
... never typical.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I was born in a fire station.
