I am fun, smart, and good friend.
My Self-Summary
I recently retired from a long career in Human Resources, having
worked for major corporations. This has now left more time for a
lot of interesting things, including travel.
I own my own home in Manhattan Beach. Reading, cooking (just
learning the finer techniques of BBQing), the beach, walking, and
watching movies are some things I enjoy. I have season tickets to
The South Bay Civic Light Opera. Love the Hollywood Bowl.
So far this year I have been to Greece and Turkey, National Parks
in South Dakota and Wyoming, St. Augustine Florida, and Miami and
Key West Florida, and many short trips in California. I will be
going to England, France, and Belgium in May 2009. I have traveled
throughout quite a bit of Europe, Canada, and the U.S. Travel has
been with tour groups, by myself, and with friends. I am looking
forward to trips to Switzerland and Russia, going on a safari, or
just about anywhere. Bonus points if you like to drive. The photo
was taken on my trip to Greece and Turkey in April 2008.
I also enjoy day trips around the LA area and weekend trips.
My friends consider me to be fun, and I have a good sense of humor.
I love entertaining at home, especially for special occasions such
as Christmas, Oscar parties, St. Patrick's Day, and summers
outside. But I also enjoy eating out, especially trying new
restaurants (but not sushi). I am game for just about any new
activity. And sometimes a quiet evening sitting at home in front of
the fireplace is perfect.
Now that I have more time, I plan to learn French, learn to play
the piano, relearn math, and learn about how the weather works. I
currently have memberships with the Los Angeles County Museum of
Art (LACMA), The Cabrillo Museum Cetacean Society, Disneyland, and
the Long Beach Aquarium of the Pacific.
I am also thoroughly enjoying my first granddaughter who is
four.
I would like to meet someone who enjoys some of my activities and I
would like to join some of yours.
What I’m doing with my life
