My self-summary
I've been lucky to have a rather interesting life and aim to keep it moving that way. I was born in New Caledonia in the south Pacific, grew up traveling with my parents aboard their yachts (visited 70 countries, crossed the Pacific and Atlantic multiple times, spent years in Asia, Europe, South America and the Caribbean) then decided I needed some civilization and got myself accepted to Columbia in NYC. Triple majored in 4 years of heavy studying and partying in the ivy league, then decided at the end that I didn't want to be an academic after all.

Moved to LA to join the videogame industry. Started on the media side, I was an editor in chief for a major website, had a part time TV gig on G4. Decided creation was better than criticism and moved to hardware development. Spent a few years manufacturing Guitar Hero controllers and such, travelled back and forth to China and Japan pretty constantly. Got tired of that, cut my hair, and now I'm a director of sales for the same company. Loving the new job. Instead of weeks on end breathing smog and yelling at factories in the industrial wasteland of Shenzhen, I fly around pitching new business domestically.

Adventure is key and happily I never have to go far to find it. LA is great, travel for work is fun, but vacation to new places is the best.
What I’m doing with my life
I have a pretty heavy work and travel schedule, but being a part of the videogame industry is what I've wanted since I was a little kid. Makes it easier to be living the dream, but all the jetting around makes hard to meet people at home.

I try hard not to let the job impede my ability to chill with friends and enjoy myself. Work to live, don't live to work!
I’m really good at
Pretty much anything I put some effort into. I've got a great track record.
The first things people usually notice about me
For a long time it was the mohawk (my videogame industry trademark, a ploy for getting on TV haha), but I cut it off. Now people look at my smile instead of my hair, which is just as well, since I've got a good smile.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: I read all the time. I go on big genre jags. For a while I was all about biographies, Lindberg by A. Scott Berg is excellent.

Lately I've been big on space opera. The Red-Green-Blue Mars trilogy by Kim Stanley Robinson is great. Also finished the Revelation Space trilogy by Alastair Reynolds a few months ago. Now I'm working through The Culture series by Iain Banks. Neil Stephenson is great for a vision of the new future. The Moon is a Harsh Mistress is a sci fi classic, highly recommend it.

I'm also just about to finish the 7 book Dark Tower series by Stephen King. Got guilted into reading it by a shockingly large number of people in an odd confluence of pressure. I regret caving in on that one. Long winded, meandering, and built upon nothing but deus ex machina plot twists. I have no idea why so many people are obsessed with it. Sadly, once I've started a series I push through. What a waste.

Movies: I'm a big fan of 2046 by Wong Kar-wai. 13 Assassins by Takeshi Miike is great. The Man from Nowhere by Jeong-beom Lee is quality.

Music: I live up in the hills right above the Sunset Strip so it's super easy to walk down the hill and see bands at the Viper, Roxy, Whiskey etc. Quality of bands on the strip is pretty hit or miss however. The big bands I like are diverse: Broken Bells, Justice, Puscifer, Avalanches, Glitch Mob. I was pretty much raised exclusively on '60s music by my parents, so I try to keep Crosby-Stills, Creedence, and Country Joe in circulation. Spotify is the best thing ever.

Food: I'll eat absolutely anything that comes out of the ocean haha. I like Chinese, Brazilian...there's not much I don't like. Growing up in Asia conditioned me pretty well to not being picky. When I was working in China I had to go out of my way to find weird stuff to try. The fish heads and chicken feet they like to scare foreign business guys with were old news hahaha. I almost gave a Mongolian factory owner a heart attack pounding shots of snake blood and stomach bile. In retrospect, the fact that he was scared of it should have given me pause, but it turned out fine in the end.
The six things I could never do without
Red Bull

I spend a lot of time thinking about
Life, the universe, and everything.
On a typical Friday night I am
Taking it easy after a long week or rallying the troops for a night out. More of the former than the latter lately, I try to make the most of my weekends to play some golf, snowboard, drive the canyons in the roadster, hit the beach...so Saturday hangovers are no fun at all.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm super sensitive about animals, a sad little creature ruins my day.

You should message me if
You're passionate for the things you like and confident in yourself. Stand for things you believe in and don't run from a debate. Enjoy a good conversation, like traveling and taking some risks.

I'm not an average type of guy. I had a very unique upbringing sailing around the world, I was well raised in an affluent family, I'm pretty smart, and I'm quite successful at what I do. As a result I'm really pretty happy.

I like having a girlfriend who's also confident and happy. I like being challenged. I fall really hard for girls that are better than me at something.
