I read a lot, but mostly non-fiction. If you really want me to tell
you all about my best reads in economics and technology, I
I'm quite the movie buff, but I've gotten to where I don't enjoy
watching them alone as much as I once did (part of why I'm here).
I'll watch anything if it's a credit to it's genre, but I
particularly enjoy eerie horror, sci-fi, thrillers, and period
pieces. Another genre, I've just started enjoying, but that it's
hard to find someone to watch with, are "so bad they are
entertaining" movies. I have a list if you're up for it. Basically,
we do our own MST3K, and I make great homemade popcorn. Oh, I
probably should have put that two sections up.
My favorite TV shows? I try not to watch too much TV but I am
watching or intend to watch the continuation of Mad Men, Game of
Thrones, Endeavor, Low Winter Sun, Silk, Broadchurch, Homeland,
Magic City, and, I know it's silly but, Under the Dome.
Music is hard. Doesn't everybody love everything unless they either
hate country or hate people who hate country? I suppose the Pandora
stations I find myself listening to most often are The Darkness,
The Killers, (wow, if you didn't know that the music of these bands
is fairly lighthearted, you'd think I was off to a morbid start)
Yoko Kanno, Daft Punk, Air, U2, Sigur Ros. I also like classical
music, opera, blues, funk, 70's-80's new-agey stuff, and 80's hair
metal. Recently I rediscovered the guilty pleasure of Stan Bush. If
you want to take the cynical ironic hipster inside of you and beat
the hell out of it with power ballads and lyrics so optimistic
you'd think they were cribbed from Tony Robbins, Stan is your
Ah food. I don't like eating total junk. Other than that, yes. In
travels, I've eaten some very strange things, and have only a few
regrets. So, yes, let's eat. Oh, and I guess here would be a good
place to say that I'm not bad at cooking Italian, Chinese,
Southern, and meat. I can also manage some Thai, Mexican, and I can
roll sushi, though I've not gotten any learned feedback.
