6 years ago I left San Francisco and moved Hawaii on a whim after going on a 2 week vacation there. After months of hiking, boogie boarding, table tennis, working on and with farmers markets, snorkeling, fishing and private cheffing; island fever kicked in and it was time to get back to the mainland and stop beach bumming it.
Obviously, the next logical move was a one way ticket too Manhattan, I stepped off the plane and instantly fell in LOVE. I landed in the East Village, which was my dream neighborhood and took full advantage of being in the great iconic New York City. I won a show on the Food Network called Chopped and was asked to participate in a battle royale called Chopped Champions. Two years later I was approached by a hospitality group in NYC and they asked me if I was interested in moving down to South Beach, Miami and do a $25 million dollar hotel renovation. I just couldn't refuse the offer so I moved down to the beach and and put 3 different dining concepts on the property. I love South Beach, it's chic, sexy, alluring, has great weather but eventually city life called and I answered the phone and it was San Francisco! So here I am.........
Since I have been back I created a pop-up restaurant called "point of view" It incorporated food, art, photography, decor and music. Volume 1 is inspired by my trip to South East Asia where I toured Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam. The success of my pop up has led me to becoming the new executive chef of a high profile South East Asian restaurant in the Marina.
Well that's a snap shot into my life........ maybe it sounds good to you.
