My passions are music (I've been a freelance rock journalist),
running (I'm an avid marathon runner) and reading (I love big,
long, difficult novels).
I'm looking for someone who wants to spend time exploring this city
and the world uncovering fun and unique experiences. When we're not
doing that we could also just sit around and talk.
What I’m doing with my life
Shuttling back and forth between the US and Europe for work ...
Trying to dream up the perfect summer vacation.
I’m really good at
I can talk forever and analyze almost any situation. I'm pretty
good at picking restaurants.
The first things people usually notice about me
My lack of hair.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Books: My favorite writer is Roberto Bolano, especially The Savage
Detectives. I also love Jonathan Lethem (Fortress of Solitude),
David Foster Wallace, Thomas Pynchon, Jennifer Egan (A Visit From
The Goon Squad), Jonathan Franzen, Gary Shteyngart ... I also read
Nabokov, Borges, Hunter S Thompson, F Scott Fitzgerald, Hans
Music: Right now I'm really into noisy indie bands like The Men,
Iceage and Parquet Courts, but I may change my mind by next week.
My mainstay bands over the years have been LCD Soundsystem, Arcade
Fire, The National, Daft Punk and things like that ... I grew up on
punk so I'll always have a special affection for The Clash, Elvis
Costello, the Specials, Minor Threat, Black Flag, etc... I'm also
really into dub reggae such as Lee Perry, King Tubby, Augustus
Pablo and oh yeah The Rolling Stones.
TV: Even though I work in TV I don't watch it that much, I like The
Daily Show, Colbert, Rachel Maddow, Bill Maher and HBO in general.
The six things I could never do without
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Concert bootlegs, Carbo-loading, Cyprus (not always in that order)
On a typical Friday night I am
Running, then figuring out where to get dinner/drinks.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have no tattoos
You should message me if
You're up for a few mini-adventures and some good conversation.
