My self-summary
I'm an big video game and role-playing geek. I'm quiet, awkward, empathetic, blunt, and easygoing.

I like to keep things pretty low-key, and feel like a weekend spent lounging around at home is a weekend well spent. That said, I keep in shape, and love the outdoors, so I'm totally up for a long walk or backpacking trip when the mood strikes.

Writing about myself is hard, so I'm going to give up on syntax and just throw out a few facts:
- I prefer quad skates to in-lines
- I'm partially colorblind.
- I can cook a mean German pancake, and a tasty rice pudding.
- I have a katana scar on my left arm. The story is not even remotely epic.
- I'm pretty good with a recurve bow.
- I'm balding, so I keep my hair real short.
- I'm trying to find a new book to read. I mostly read sci-fi/fantasy so don't suggest anything too deep. =)
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a structural engineer (EIT, for those of you familiar with the engineering hierarchy--don't want to misrepresent myself), so most of my day is spent figuring out how to keep buildings from falling over and crushing people. I enjoy the work, make a good living, and I think keeping people from being crushed by buildings has a real positive impact on the world.
I’m really good at
Street Fighter
...Yeah, I'm a nerd.
The first things people usually notice about me
It takes me a while to open up, so I bet most people just think of me as "that quiet guy" at first.

The six things I could never do without
I'm sure I'd make do, but for the sake of discussion...

Good friends
Video games
Stories (books, movies, what-have-you)
Down time

Honorable mention: Beer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Various games and systems. Engineering problems. What life would be like if I lived in another time or place. My own thoughts and feelings (self-examination).

I also occasionally worry that my haircut makes me look like a racist.
On a typical Friday night I am
Role playing with friends. So essentially, pretending to be a curmudgeonly shaman, flippant superhero, endearing surveillance droid, angst-filled werewolf, or other random character.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't mind answering whatever questions you might have. It's easier with an actual question, though.

Check out my match question explanations for some good tidbits.

Oh, okay. How about this: I was married once before. I'd like to be again, eventually, assuming I meet the right person.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 30–37
  • Near me
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You want to chat or hang out. It's that simple, really.

Bonus points if you enjoy video games, role playing, backpacking or anything else I mention above, or if you want to introduce me to something new that you think I might like (Like rock climbing! I want to learn.).

Yeah, don't wait for me to message you. I did say I was shy, quiet and awkward, right? If you're interested, just throw the normal gender dynamic out the window and say so.
