My self-summary
I was born and raised in Washington, and I love it here. I'm a big video game and role-playing geek. I'm happy, quiet, awkward, empathetic, blunt, and easygoing.

I like to keep things pretty low-key, and feel like a weekend spent lounging around at home or at a casual get-together with friends is a weekend well spent. That said, I keep in shape and love the outdoors, so I'm totally up for a walk, run, or backpacking trip when the mood strikes.

Writing about myself is hard, so I'm going to give up on syntax and just throw out a few random facts:
• I'm partially colorblind.
• I can cook a mean German pancake, and a tasty rice pudding.
• I have a katana scar on my left arm. The story is not even remotely epic.
• I'm pretty good with a recurve bow.
• I recently built a table. It's surprisingly awesome.
• I prefer quad skates to in-lines.
What I’m doing with my life
I work as a structural engineer, so most of my week is spent figuring out how to keep buildings from falling down and crushing people. I enjoy the work, make a good living, and I think keeping people from being crushed by buildings is a pretty awesome and useful thing to be doing.

When I'm not working I play games, read, hang out with friends, and work on random craft projects. Now that the weather is finally looking up, I'm getting outside for some more hiking and archery.
I’m really good at
Street Fighter
Math
...Yeah, I'm a nerd.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like a lot of things, but I figure I better keep this brief so that there's a chance people may actually read it.

Books: Just about anything by Brandon Sanderson or Neal Stephenson

Movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Willow, The Incredibles, As Good as it Gets

Shows: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Firefly, Archer

Video Games (Yeah, I snuck this in here. Don't tell anyone.): Monkey Island, Batman: Arkham City, Braid, Street Fighter, Star Control II, Dragon Age: Origins

Music: Florence + The Machine, Johnny Cash, Of Monsters and Men, Lindsey Stirling. I also derive sick pleasure from being the only person who really likes Boyd's Journey from the Ravenous soundtrack.

Food: Pumpkin Pie, Sausage, Cream Cheese Danishes, IPA, Quiche
The six things I could never do without
I'm sure I'd make do, but for the sake of discussion...

Good friends

Honorable mention: Beer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Various games and systems. Engineering problems. What life would be like if I lived in another time or place. My own thoughts and feelings (self-examination).

I also occasionally worry that my haircut makes me look like a racist.
On a typical Friday night I am
I get together with a regular gaming group on Fridays, so I'm pretty much always in Federal Way hanging out and playing Savage Worlds.

Other days of the week I might be found at pub trivia, hanging out with friends, lounging around at home with a book, show, or video game, or working on some random project.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I don't mind answering whatever questions you might have. It's easier with an actual question, though.

Check out my match question explanations for some good tidbits.

...

Oh, okay. How about this: I was married once before. I'd like to be again, eventually, assuming I meet the right person.
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 30–37
  • Near me
  • For long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if
You want to chat or hang out. It's that simple, really.

Bonus points if you enjoy video games, tabletop RPGs, backpacking or anything else I mention above, or if you want to introduce me to something new that you think I might like (Like bouldering! I want to learn.).

Yeah, don't wait for me to message you. I did say I was shy, quiet and awkward, right? If you're interested, just throw the normal gender dynamic out the window and say so.
