My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I was born and raised in Washington, and I love it here. I love the outdoors, and head out on runs, walks or backpacking trips whenever the mood strikes. I started rock climbing not too long ago and it's a blast.

In contrast to my active, outdoorsy tendencies, I'm also a big video game and role-playing geek, so I spend a fair amount of my time gaming with friends, wandering Skyrim, making a little CG Batman beat people up, or what-have-you.

Writing about myself is hard, so I'm going to give up on syntax for a minute and just throw out a few random facts:
• I'm partially colorblind.
• I'm pretty good with a recurve bow.
• I can cook a mean German pancake, and a tasty rice pudding.
• I have a katana scar on my left arm. The story is not even remotely epic.
• I recently built a table. It's surprisingly awesome.
• I'm quiet, awkward, blunt, calm, empathetic, and easy-going--or at least that's what everyone tells me.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I work as a structural engineer, so most of my week is spent figuring out how to keep buildings from falling down and crushing people. I enjoy the work, make a good living, and I think keeping people from being crushed by buildings is a pretty awesome and useful thing to be doing.

When I'm not working, I play games, read, hang out with friends, do outdoorsy stuff, and work on random craft projects.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Street Fighter
...Yeah, I'm a nerd.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I like a lot of things, but I figure I better keep this brief so that there's a chance people may actually read it.

Books: Just about anything by Brandon Sanderson or Neal Stephenson

Movies: The Shawshank Redemption, Willow, The Incredibles, As Good as it Gets

Shows: Avatar: The Last Airbender, Firefly, Orange is the New Black

Video Games (Yeah, I snuck this in here. Don't tell anyone.): Monkey Island, Batman: Arkham City, Braid, Street Fighter, Star Control II, Dragon Age: Origins

Music: Florence + The Machine, Johnny Cash, Of Monsters and Men, Lindsey Stirling. I also derive sick pleasure from being the only person who really likes Boyd's Journey from the Ravenous soundtrack.

Food: Pumpkin Pie, Sausage, Cream Cheese Danishes, IPA, Quiche
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I'm sure I'd make do, but for the sake of discussion...

Good friends
Stories (books, movies, etc.)
Down time

Honorable mention: Beer
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Various games and systems. Engineering problems. What life would be like if I lived in another time or place. My own thoughts and feelings (self-examination).

I also occasionally worry that my haircut makes me look like a racist. I'm balding, though, so my options are pretty limited.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
I get together with a regular gaming group on Fridays, so I'm pretty much always in Federal Way hanging out and playing Savage Worlds.

Other days of the week I might be found at pub trivia, hanging out with friends, climbing at the gym, camping in the woods, lounging around at home with a book, show, or video game, or working on some random project.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I don't mind answering whatever questions you might have. It's easier with an actual question, though.

Oh, okay. How about this: I was married once before. I'd like to be again, eventually, assuming I meet the right person.
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You want to get together and chat a bit to see how we get along. It's that simple, really.

Bonus points if you enjoy video games, tabletop RPGs, backpacking, rock climbing, or anything else I mention above, or if you want to introduce me to something new that you think I might like.

Yeah, don't wait for me to message you. I did say I was shy, quiet and awkward, right? If you're interested, just throw the normal gender dynamic out the window and say so.
