At first I seem to many, very contradictory; an altruistic misanthrope, very logical minded yet personally emotional, etc. Digging deeper you find that there is indeed a method to my madness (I'll leave you to discover what that method is).

Personally, I'm very dedicated to those who are important to me, honest (almost to a fault), a very good listener. I tend to be a very tactile person, especially with my partner, expect a lot of hugs and such.

My sense of humor is a bit off-center, a mix of dark and goofy (but not stupid), often engaging in word-play, pop-culture references and the like. Playfulness often dominates my life, (you HAVE to have fun!). I tend to be somewhat of a geek (but not a dweeb), interested in tech and science.

I am a very casual person, both in demeanor and dress (though not sloppy or rude), a t-shirt and shorts dresser. While I agree that a certain level of decorum is essential in society, life is too short to worry about minutia. Function above form.

The arts are very important to me, with the exception of dance. I am a voracious music fan; rock, jazz, classical, blues, reggae and more. Sculpture, painting, architecture, gastronomy? Absolutely. Admittedly, I don't read as much as I'd like, as I do utilize the internet for light reading and entertainment.

I feel that being open-minded, honest and respectful are very important qualities in a person (myself and others).

Another says "... someone who is confident in himself. At first, [I] appear to be stand-offish, however, [they] know that is just because [I can be] shy until [I] feel comfortable with the person."

I really don't have a go-to author, I'm currently reading a lot of nonfiction, history and biographies, but Steven King is great for an entertaining, mindless read.

I like a lot of film styles, though not big on let's-blow-a-lot-of-stuff-up action genre or French art film. I do enjoy classics from the 40s and 50s, Scorsese, Kubrick, Lynch, cheeze/camp (Zardoz), etc. Some favorites include Taxi Driver, Arsenic & Old Lace, A Clockwork Orange, Monkey Business, and Blue Velvet. Animation holds a special place in my heart, Classic Warner Bros., Brothers Quay, Norman McLaren among many others.

Currently, there are not many TV shows I watch. News, House, and Fox animation round out my current viewing habits. Past shows I've liked include Star Trek, Twilight Zone, X-Files, Twin Peaks, M. Python, Black Adder.
