I'm a Certified Nursing Assistant; just started about 4 months ago (before this I was a teacher- but that's a long unpleasant tale). My goal is to become a nurse. I work in the nursing home setting and love it: the elderly people have definitely stolen my heart. I work with 7 of the residents who I call "my ladies." I love working with them and work hard and do my best each day to help them stay comfortable and happy. This includes the little things like getting them that cold soda that they love in the afternoon, or listening to them when they just want to talk. Two things that a nursing assistant does is wash the residents and help them go to the bathroom (or clean them up after they do). I can just see your face, you're cringing =P I am able to do these and all of the other tasks with patience, understanding, calmness, and kindness. In fact, people have told me many times how gentle and patient I am with the residents. I guess I'm sort of a gentle giant type (I'm 6'2"). I have perfect attendance at work and I always end up arriving early and staying late. It's important to me that I do my best everyday: I care a lot about my work. I have a strong desire to help make the world a better place, and luckily my job gives me one avenue of doing so.
There are a couple other things about myself that I want to make sure that I mention. First, I am completely self-sufficient. I cook, clean, do laundry, manage my finances....everything! Second, I consider myself a feminist, which may sound weird coming from a guy, but I believe that women and men are equals and should treat each other as such. Finally, I could care less about a woman's weight and size. Far more important to me is the size of her heart and what her character and personality are like.
Well that's all I got. If you think my profile is interesting please say hi. I'd love to hear from you!
