Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up in Hilo, Hawaii, went to Pacific University in Forest
Grove, Oregon, and studied abroad in Nagoya, Japan. After
graduating, I spent five years in Shizuoka, Japan teaching English
to kids, high school students, and adults. I made a lot of friends,
and I hope to go back soon.
After 5 years in Japan, I decided to further my education and get
my teaching credentials in elementary education. I taught three
years at two different schools in Hawaii and decided that teaching
wasn't for me.
At this time I had a girlfriend that was finishing up her MBA in
SF, so I moved up here and went to culinary school. We have since
gone on our own ways, and I remained here. I started working at
Facebook headquarters at the bottom as a prep cook, but have worked
up to become a line cook and then a kitchen manager in 3 years. My
next step is becoming a sous chef.
I like to keep an active lifestyle with exercise and practicing
jiujitsu. I am a brown belt in Brazilian jiujitsu and actively
compete in tournaments.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I am making the most out of it by learning as much as I can, doing
as much as I can, and passing on what I have learned.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
New friends tell me I'm quiet, and close friends say the opposite.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
Goals to shoot for
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Hanging out with friends, going out to new bars, or keeping it
quiet and watching movies at home
