My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I enjoy living simply and leaving a low impact on the planet but a big impact on my community. I value my down time. I'm strong, good with my hands, and like to build and create things. I have studied physics and other sciences. I am fairly well read and I have a better than average knowledge of history. I keep current with the news from more than just mainstream media and hold strong opinions. I'm competent and confident, but only because I know there is always more to learn and accept my imperfections.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Living it, sometimes too much. Sometimes not enough. I work for an antique/vintage/ furniture store, recycle metal, and sell antique books on the side.
I used to work in (liberal) politics, but I got pretty sick of the corruption and backstabbing and pandering.

I have a lot of job stability/security and I have everything I need for now. What I'm really looking for is to expand my horizons and meet someone(s) special along the way.

I love discovering secret spots and going on adventures. I like warm early spring days for pic-nics and field trips, calm fall evenings for carnivals and festivals, summers for drunken barbecues and winter for dinner parties.

I join a group of friends who play Dungeons & Dragons (Pathfinder Society) from time to time. I have another group that does sunday brunch often. Occasionally I go to my friends studio to listen to good music getting made and get lit.

I don't like to go to the bar as much as my peers. Some men seem to obsess over the bar & club scenes. I have little hope for those men. Don't get me wrong, put a scotch in my hand and a cigar in the other and i'll tell you some hilarious jokes with a smile and a wink. But I'm able to be social without needing a drink. And I don't feel the need to get my friends and dates drunk to know they'll have a good time with me.

Pursuing happiness.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Many things. Listing them for a profile is not one of them.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My cleft and dimples. That i'm left-handed. Or that I'm laughing really loudly for no apparent reason.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
Over time I have discovered these things are not always what make people compatible. You can have identical tastes in everything down to your favorite sentence in your favorite book or movie, and still not get along. But I will try to give a sense of my tastes:

Food: I love to cook, so everything. Turkish, French, Sushi, Colombian, whatever it is - chicken wings & dumplings or roast duck with rosemary sage shallot stuffing, I dig yummy food. I can also cook vegetarian & vegan friendly.

White Stripes/Raconteurs/Jack White, Modest Mouse, Tom Waits, Talking Heads, Zeppelin, Old School Ozzy, Janes Addiction, Gorillaz, Blind Melon, Nirvana, Snoop Dizzle, Vivaldi, Chekov, Clint Mansfield, Maynard/Tool, Chronos Quartet, Trent Reznor, Beck, Cat Stephens, D3adMau5, Cake, Alice in Chains, The Glitch Mob, rattatat, The Smiths, The Cure, Johnny Cash, Pixies, Outkast,...etc,etc,etc...

I enjoy authors who invoke ancient themes of mysticism. I also enjoy stories with modern lessons. I deeply enjoy well thought out science fiction or fantasy that has a deeper meaning or moral, such as Ray Bradbury, Isaac Asimov, Arthur C. Clark, Orson Wells, and my top three books would be: Fahrenheit 451, Flowers for Algernon, and the Lord of the Rings (Note: 1984 and The Martian Chronicles both almost tie for this spot). I strongly enjoy the aesthetics of antique books.

Movies: My movie tastes are all over the place. Space epics like Star Wars or Alien were my favorite as a kid, and in my early 20's I really got into gritty kinky indyish flicks like "Tie me up-Tie me down", Pulp Fiction, or Blue Velvet. Lord of the Rings is a favorite like so many others. But then so is Harold & Maude, unlike most. I like comedy - people like Bill Murray (Ghostbusters!), Paul Rudd (Our Idiot Brother), Steve Martin (The Jerk), and Seth Rogan (Knocked Up). Jason Segel is beginning to grow on me, and I've got to hand it to him, he did a great job with the muppet movie. Yeah, I used to dig muppets a whole lot as a kid. Kermit's the dude. Totally.
I also like cheesy B horror movies, the look of black and white films (Casablanca), and modern zombie movies (WWZ was so disappointing!!!)
TV: Same as movies, I'm all over the place. The shows I enjoy most right now are: Breaking Bad(, How I met your mother, and The Walking Dead. Some shows I can always re-watch include Law&Order:blablabla, ST:TNG & Voyager, Doogie Howser MD, and Adventure Time.

Games: Be aware - While I do not spend my entire waking life playing video games, I do enjoy them from time to time. I've never been a WOW addict, and prefer thinking games to shooters or hack and slash games (Except Halo, I will headshot erryone). Just like books and movies, I prefer games that make me think, whose stories and themes borrow elements from history, philosophy, or science. My favorite game series is The Elder Scrolls for it's well written in-game literature (yes, it's a game that has real books you can read) it's departure from bland run-of-the-mill fantasy themes ((Morrowind)), and it's internal philosophical depth. Mega bonus points if you've played Morrowind. Michael Kirkbride is a great writer/designer.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
I can do without a lot. Freedom, Knowledge, and Love would be my only three.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How I can improve myself, and the world around me.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
There is no typical with me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I like to cuddle.
