I am nice, easy going, and funny (I think).

My Self-Summary

I'm originally from the south. I'm a singer/songwriter and playwright. I miss being able to walk outside and see a sky full of stars. I want to travel all over the world. I love being on stage playing music, but I hate the in between time where I have to talk to the crowd (it can be terrifying). When I was in elementary school I used to tell everyone I was from California (I have yet to go to California).

What I’m doing with my life

With my life I am currently pursuing an MFA in Creative Writing, so I can graduate with said degree and still have very few opportunities in the way of writing. I'm attempting to figure out how to travel the entire world as well as working on discovering the recipe to Dairy Queen's Cheesequake...

I also occupy my life with music!

I’m really good at

making unfunny jokes in awkward situations, tripping while walking in the city then attempting to play it off, and eating a whole helping of Haagen Daz Dulce De Leche ice cream in one seating.

I'm really NOT good at talking about myself in little boxes that ask me to talk about myself.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

MOVIES: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Dumb and Dumber, All the Real Girls, Rushmore, Groundhog Day, Ghostbusters, Brick, SLC Punk, The Outsiders, Flight of the Navigator, High Fidelity...

BOOKS: Everything by Steve Martin, Father and Son by Larry Brown, Most things by Raymond Carver, A Long Way Down by Nick Hornby, Troubled Sleep by Jean-Paul Sartre. Plays by Sam Shepard, August Wilson and Arthur Miller...

MUSIC: The Temptations, Otis Redding, Nick Drake, Iron and Wine, Ramones, Louis Armstrong, Louie Prima, Bright Eyes, Smokey Robinson, Mos Def, The Avett Brothers, Lupe Fiasco...

FOOD: Burritos, Chinese, Pasta, Meatloaf (my mom's - it's delicious), Cheesecake, Banana pudding, and basically anything that's edible with the exception of what I had at that restaurant at the boarder of Chile and Argentina.

On a typical Friday night I am

either playing a show, attending a show of some kind (music, play, etc.), hanging out with friends, staying home watching a movie, reading, writing, or playing guitar.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

is when I was in the fourth grade I wrote a girl I had a crush on a beautiful love letter. The whole nine - your eyes are as blue as the ocean - that kind of thing. I finally worked up the nerve to give it to her while standing in line at the library, she unfolded it, read it, folded it back up and then turned back around.

You should message me if

you are intrigued even the slightest by any of the musings posted here, you enjoy wandering aimlessly around the city, riding trains and buses with no particular place to go, or for any other reason you might be able to think of.
