My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Writer, explorer, trixter, sometimes funny, sometimes philosophical, always human.
I find that openness and honesty is vitally important to relationships of any length or degree. Sometimes I'm too honest, and the other person isn't ready to hear it. I'm trying to learn to explain when I give basic facts, so that there's a context....

For example: Check my "something I'm willing to admit" section, and if you like what you see otherwise, consider seeing past it. It's temporary.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
By day I fix computers and deliver mice and keyboards to folks who need more coffee. By night I'd rather sing and stomp than sit and stare. Depends on the night and the company.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I can solve problems better than a cab driver. I know when to read the directions and when I don't need to. I don't always follow that knowledge...I probably should have read the directions here, for example.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Might be my preference for a joke over a straight answer. i don't know. They don't actually tell me unless its something awful. But people seem to like what they see (except for the ones who suddenly run away, of course)
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
(Just listing a few for now)
Princess Bride
StarTrek TOS
Beatles, Clapton, Joni, Patsy, jazz, blues, disco, bluegrass, country, techno, funk. Lets go.
All types of food. I like to try other people's favorites. Often veggie. But sometimes the old standby burger or chop is just the thing.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
It's good to know where your towel is
(If you don't get that reference, its from Douglas Adams. If you do, we may be kindred...)
Otherwise, my glasses, a good pair of walking shoes, optimism, micro-brewed beer, something to write with/on.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
I waste a lot of time thinking. I lean toward the spontaneous, but that doesn't mean I won't over analyze everything. This right here for example... It doesn't really matter, and yet I second guess.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Dancing, sharing a pitcher with a friend, writing, or possibly alone considering the nature of the universe and whether I should be out doing something or meeting someone who will enlighten me.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I'm bigger on the inside
(again, that's another science fiction reference, not a dirty joke, it's OK if you don't get it).

And a serious one: There was no applicable box to check, but I'm currently "separated" and divorcing from my wife, very amicably, cuz we don't see any need to hate each other. I'd rather be honest about it right here so that you know why I'm not rushing into anything. But my emotions still function.

There are other very private things I'll admit, but those should wait until appropriate to conversation or when we've at least developed some trust...

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You're tired of people visiting your profile and then chickening out, and then you realize that's what you were doing.
You liked me (4 or 5 stars) and I haven't found you yet (I didn't buy the upgrade).
You have some guts even though you don't fit into the silly boxes OKC gives us. I might be interested.
You have a sense of humor, adventure, déjà vu, or, well, no sense at all. Lets have fun and see if we're too weird for each other.
