My self-summary
I'm a very unique individual. I'm a fan of independent thought, and I'm not into or even very aware of what's popular. I'm a writer by nature, an intellectual with an English degree, a fan of knowledge and languages and unique experiences.

I live in Bergenfield, work in Montvale, and am originally from Kenilworth - parents still live there so I return fairly regularly.
What I’m doing with my life
I work full time in an office. I'd tell you about it, but it'd bore you to tears. I don't hate it, don't love it, it's a job. It's not really what I want to do, but it's not awful and it's got some perks. My dream is to write a novel or work as an editor for a publishing company.
I’m really good at
Writing. Being creative. Listening. Procrastinating.
The first things people usually notice about me
Regarding personality: I'm weird. I sometimes say the wrong thing at the wrong time. I sometimes make jokes no one gets. I find unique things interesting and popular things sometimes boring. I know things you don't expect me to know but I don't know things you think I should.

Regarding looks: I wear glasses and I have curly, frizzy hair unless I straighten it. I think I have nice eyes, which vary from blue to green depending on what day of the week it is. I don't know how many people notice that, but I think it might be noticeable if you were looking.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I like to read a lot. Mostly I read fantasy or historical fiction, and sometimes I read plain old history books with dry, boring facts. Favorite books include The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy, His Majesty's Dragon, Zorro, The Princess Bride. Recently read the Game of Thrones series. I'm not quite sure what I think of it yet. I've been known to read romance novels, even though they alternately depress or disgust me if I read too many of them.

I'm not a big movie watcher, but I like movies in which things happen. I like action, sci-fi things like Star Wars and Indiana Jones and The Dark Knight and most of those comic-book based movies.

I don't watch much TV on a regular basis (I'm not even sure where my remote is) but that's not really from any sort of elitist snob perspective, I just don't get into it. I refuse to be in the same room as a TV which is playing most of that reality show stuff. I am a fan of some classic sitcoms (Mash, The Bob Newhart Show, Frasier), but I honestly don't even know what's on right now.

I like most kinds of music except rap. I have an absurd collection of music from anime. Here is a very incomplete list of artists I like, in no particular order: Coldplay, DMB, Mumford & Sons, Ben Folds (plus or Minus Five), Dido, Elton John, Fleetwood Mac, The Gaslight Anthem, Guster, Jimmy Eat World, The Killers, Muse. I've been listening to the classical station on the radio lately, but I don't really own any such music (yet).

As for food? I'm a chocoholic. I'm open to most anything that's not terribly spicy: I like to try new and exotic foods. I like sushi. I'm not an amazing cook, but I haven't given anyone food poisoning yet.
The six things I could never do without
1. The internet. I guess I could learn to cope, but it's basically how I keep in touch with the universe while remaining rather introverted.

2. My computer. Again, I could adapt, but aside from the internet, there's a lot of pictures and documents on this machine that are important to me. I'm a writer, and most of my writings are in this form.

3. My car. From my grandfather I inherited a bit of wanderlust, and I love to explore in my free time, even if I'm not going very far from home. Aside from the difficulties in commuting to work, I'd find it hard to stay in one place for very long.

4. My sanity. It's arguably on a thin string right now, but it'd be hard to survive if I was truly crazy.

5. My glasses. These should probably be number one, since I'm insanely nearsighted and I can't see anything without them.

6. Chapstick. Don't ask me why, but I think I might be addicted to it.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Story ideas. I spend a lot of time in my own head, thinking about imaginary scenarios and characters and plot lines and all that.

Myself. I do a lot of self-introspection in various forms.

Some sort of work-related subject. I try to avoid these in my time off, but they keep creeping back in. :P

My cat. I just got him, so presumably in a short while I'll stop being so much of a crazy cat person. Or maybe more? Anyway, he's on my mind often. :)
On a typical Friday night I am
at Starbucks. This is my designated time to write, in the evening after work.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm an introverted nerd with various self esteem issues. I'm still getting used to being thought of as someone who knows something useful. I'm not good at taking compliments. I can be "difficult" sometimes.

Regarding being bisexual, I list myself that way because my only previous Serious relationship was with a woman. So you'll have to be a bit patient with my lack of experience in that department.
