My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm an Engineer with an interest in Alternative Energy technologies and environmental cleanup. I enjoy reading, and occasionally writing. I like playing soccer, even though I'm not great at it. I like growing plants indoors and out, flowering or greenery. I also enjoy singing in the car or at random times when I'm doing something. I keep myself busy, but leave some time to relax as well. I play the trumpet with a community band, and starting learning to play bass guitar.

I enjoy discussions about a wide variety of topics, and will usually be willing to argue either side if I know about it. I like to observe things that are going on around me, and I enjoy noticing minor things that would normally be overlooked like a small flower on the edge of a hiking trail, or a random discarded item on the sidewalk. Or a small dragonfly buzzing around the yard, when nobody else seems to notice it.

I tend to retain useless information that has no value, but for some reason it lodges in my mind. Like dragonflies can fly as fast backward as they can forward. Or that there are only a few vegetables that are perrenials. Generally not useful, but interesting to think about sometimes.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Working full time as an engineer for a research and development organization. I don't do much design work myself, but I get to impact a large number of technologies ranging from hydrogen fuel cell vehicles to microgrid technologies.

I'm also working toward getting a Master's in Mechanical Engineering. A bit of self-development never hurts.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Coming up with random creative thoughts. It's part of having a mind that wanders.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have no idea.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
For books I generally enjoy anything well written in the scifi, fantasy, or paranormal catergories, but I read romances, thrillers, and biographies as well.

Movies are generally not high on my list of things to spend time doing, but pretty much anything but scary movies are ok.

Television mostly follows my reading preferences, but usually I turn it on as background while doing other things.

Music is one of the things that is easy to enjoy. If it has a good beat, and the lyrics are amusing without being degrading, I'll listen to it. I do enjoy pop music though, much to my friends' dismay.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. My Family
2. My Friends
3. My laptop
4. My car
5. My memories
6. My phone
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
How to engineer new solutions to old problems, like the energy crisis, environmental toxins, sustainable living, etc. I think about current politics, despite how it makes me start to lose faith in humanity's ability to take care of itself. I also spend a lot of time thinking about myself - like things I need to improve in myself, my personal motivators, and my goals in life.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Haning out at my friends' house, playing video games, board games, or generally just hanging out.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I cannot stick to a budget, and have the tendency to just get whatever I want while at the store.
