Hello all, hope you're well. Well, I'm not your ordinary guy, while most guys would claim that, I have proof!
I'm not afraid of baring my emotions at all, I'm a psychology major and understand the problems society has with men in general, and the impositions that it thrusts upon them. I'm pretty well educated, and I agree with Mill that that isn't something I should hold over anyone's head. I believe that because I was given this special opportunity, I should use in not only to the betterment of myself, but also all those I come in contact with.
I have really unique interests, I like anime but only certain ones, I'm fascinated by Japanese culture, and the language, it sings so beautifully to me.
I like to think of myself as an open book, if you ask I'll tell you, I might tell you even if you don't ask.
I'm working on improving myself every day. I understand that not all my traits are ideal and that personality, although partially static, does have room for growth in positive directions.
Well, that's me in a nutshell. More below!

I'm currently a full-time senior psychology major at the University of Memphis. That is pretty much all I'm doing at the moment. From there, I pretty much HAVE to go to graduate school. After that I want to either do research, teach, or open a practice. There might or might not be a job somewhere between graduation and graduate school, there probably will be.

I would say I'm good at being a solid friend. I don't make waves, as a general rule. Very few things that people do make me honestly angry. I'm really good at school. I absorb information really well. I'm also good at being patient, I think I have a disease that's the opposite of ADD, in which I can stare at paint drying and find some fun in it.

Well, the first thing people notice about me is that I am black, but do not act like any black person that they have ever seen. They also notice I lack a southern accent or even a hint of one although I was born and raised in the heart of the south, I've been asked many times where I'm from, ha!
Also, people notice I'm a very quiet soul. Introverted, and rather timid. That isn't to say I can never be loud, I can. The thing is when I am it isn't who I really am. An example would be that I love public speaking, because it gives me an opportunity to be loud and boisterous, but that's only actor me, not real me.

I am a fantasy novel person. I enjoy being swept away into magical lands, following deep mysterious romances.. Some actual titles, The Sword of Truth Series, Dune, Tolkien's works, A Wrinkle In Time, the NIMH books, to name just a few.
I like hero movies, in general. Like The Matrix, V for Vendetta, all the comic book movies. Also in this category goes all the Disney movies I love, Aladdin, Hercules,well, The Little Mermaid too, although it isn't truly a hero movie.
As for my Anime Interests, FLCL, Trigun, Death Note, Cowboy Bebop. Samurai Shamploo, Wolf's Rain, Read or Die, Outlaw Star, and Big O (There's more but that's a pretty representative sample.)
I also love the childhood series I grew up with, things like Tiny Toons, The Gummy Bears, Darkwing Duck, Ducktales, Quack Attack, and 90s Nick in general: Are You Afraid of the Dark, Double Dare, What Would You Do?, Figure It Out, Legends of the Hidden Temple, Invader Zim, and my favorite show from then The Angry Beavers. They just don't make good TV anymore. Well, aside from my favorite show nowadays, Heroes. I have recently gotten into House and more into Law and Order, basically all versions, but especially S.V.U. and Criminal Intent.
In terms of music I have very eclectic tastes. I don't subscribe to liking solely one genre. I like songs, not genres, not even bands really. I like some of The Hush Sound--- thanks to hagglespinbinuk for introducing me to them!, My Chemical Romance, Daft Punk, Avenged Sevenfold, Blink-182(Welcome back, Blink!!), Panic at the Disco, and System of a Down. This isn't a full list at all. Well, actually, there is a genre that I like more often than not, and that's J-pop, or J-rock. Mainly because I love how Japanese sings, it mesmerizes me.
Favorite foods, well, I also have eclectic tastes when it comes to foods. I enjoy traditional southern "soul food" dishes, with the exception of chitlins...bleh. I'll try almost anything when it comes to food, well, except oysters, those are icky.

I tend to over analyze situations, psych myself out. But in general, I think about random things, like how nice it would be to live being rich in a castle in Great Britain. I also think about how nice it would be to travel the world.
To confess, I also sometimes think about the person who I'd be attracted, to, physical and emotional characteristics.

Hanging out with friends doing who knows what. We don't party, we may watch movies, play board games, order pizza, generally act like college guys.
When not hanging out, I tend to read, or play video games, primarily Massively Multiplayer Online Games. Actually, as of late I've been into simpler stuff. Older games, like Saga Frontier, the original Kingdom Hearts, need a friend to play Rock Band or Guitar Hero World Tour with!

I will admit that I am a virgin. It is a decision of mine, one I've thoroughly considered. Purity is in fact NOT an antiquated concept.
