*I absolutely love, love, love traveling. Last summer, I went on a 5-week independent Europe trip where I couchsurfed the whole time and met absolutely lovely people! I have traveled to more countries than states: South Korea, Colombia, Ireland, England, Belgium, Holland, Germany, Denmark, Czech Republic, Italy, Spain, France and Ecuador 10x (I lived there for a little over a year).
*I just returned from a 4 week trip to Hungary, Belgium, England, Netherlands, Greece and Croatia.

I am currently working as a middle school special education teacher in an all Latino school. I co-teach language arts and mathematics to students with disabilities and without disabilities. I am an activist in Chicago through the teacher's union and other organizations. It might sound lame, but I love my job!
I also coach Girls on the Run.

I grew up with all boys so I'm pretty chill.

Physically: I guess my enormous eyes. When I was a little kid, I had to wear an eye patch a few times because I would get things in my eyes and they would get scratched. =( Also if my tattoos are showing they notice my artwork.

I usually read about one book a week. I love autobiographies and biographies about revolutionaries and random fiction books. Recently I read, 11/22/63 by Steven King, Love and Capital (about Karl Marx), One Day

My favorite bands are The Misfits, Rise Against, Blitzkid, Heavy Heavy Low Low....punk, metal, hardcore, blues, jazz, Latin American music, etc.

TV shows: I have no cable or tv, but I watch shows on hulu: Arrested Development and Seinfeld are my all time favorite shows. I also watch the Office, Daily Show, Always Sunny, Mad Men, Smash, Modern Family, True Blood, Weeds, Sex and the City.

I am pescatarian (I only eat fish). I love sushi, thai, tapas (mana's food bar is my favorite), indian, anything spicy.

I broke my tailbone by jumping off a 40 foot waterfall after a man that looked like Tarzan. By the time I came up from the water with a sore bottom, I saw that he had a Jane (a girlfriend) at the bottom of the waterfall. Not my best idea. I had to bring a red blow up doughnut everywhere I went in Ecuador, even on buses or trains. I was known as the "gringa with the broken butt."

I have a hitchhikers thumb... literally. It bends back to a 90 degree angle. Ironically, I have only hitchhiked once when I was kicked off a bus on the way to the rainforest. I am a thumb war champion! Just try to beat me.

My friends and I were all jumping at once in an elevator (real smart), and I farted right before the elevator got stuck between floors. Everyone in the elevator was gassed to death and passed out....Ok that last sentence was not true.
