Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm Mar: vegan, musician, traveler, daydreamer.
I can try to describe myself, but I think Vonnegut says it better
I want to stand as close to the edge as I can without going over.
Out on the edge you see all the kinds of things you can't see from
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Studying psychology and music at Berkeley- I'm really hoping to
explore the biological basis of physical and emotional connections
through music, memory in particular. Lots of music therapy
volunteer work, and working to get into clinical Neuropsych in the
future- just trying to save the world like everyone else?
Someday I'd like to buy a taco truck and travel the world- I
backpacked, train hopped , and couchsurfed my way through Europe
over the summer with my trusty guitar, and I'm going again for 7
weeks in July to Eastern Europe! Don't know where I'm going or what
I'll see, bring it on! Always up to plan more adventures in the
future, I can be your Ferdinand and you my wayward girl (or boy )
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Making soup out of all the leftover veggies I have from the week.
It's a talent, really ;p
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Help your potential matches find common interests.
I mostly read books with covers, British comedies are my favorite
(I haven't owned a tv for a few years now), I love all the
junkiest-healthiest-cruelty-free food, and I'm open to all mediums
of sound and rhythm.
My favorites right now:
Oliver Sacks, Sam Harris, Jiddu Krishnamurti, Tolkein (currently
reading through LOTR), and the book The Disaster Artist
The IT Crowd, An Idiot Abroad, Game of Thrones, Avatar the Last
Anything I can smother with Louisiana-style hot sauce
I really like the movies Persepolis, Amelie, Paprika, and Waking
Life (although Wizard People, Dear Reader had me laughing harder
than I ever have at a movie)
My favorite band is The Dodos, however I only recently discovered
the wonders of Explosions In The Sky, Kaki King, and The Bombay
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-and one more E string to bring it around townnnnn
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
-Ways to live more consciously.
-What day to day life is like living with a split corpus
-When I'm going to buy a one-way ticket somewhere
-And of course how strange it is to be anything at all.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Before I moved up here from SoCal, I spent a lot of time planning
hikes and adventures. Sometimes I would drive out to the desert
with just my guitar and have nights to myself. I miss that..
These days, I'm probably kickin' it with a glass of home-made brew
while I paint or study, usually while I listen to an Alan Watts
lecture on the nature of consciousness. That's pretty standard for
me on my free days..
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
You'd like to get lost with me somewhere, go to a museum, make some
music, suggest a book you think I'd like, go to a show or on a
hike, or ideally do something we've both never done before! As of
mid June, I only have a week or two before I leave backpacking for
7 weeks this summer.
One last thought, although I am mostly attracted to women, I
consider myself pansexual and am open to lovin' all genders and
people- as long as the intellectual chemistry is there ;p
