The short version goes something like this: I'm 1/2 white, and 1/2 Japanese. I'm an Astrophysicist currently teaching Physics at a university; though I aspire to become an Astronaut . . . and NASA is currently reviewing my application for the second round of cuts. My hobbies include the martial arts (I've been studying for 19 years now, though I view my greatest martial accomplishment is not having been in a single fight in my life outside of tournaments and sparring - I'm descended from a family of samurai who were the greatest swordsmen in all Japan for 100 years, the Yoshioka.), breakdancing (been b-boyin' for 4 years now), video games, and anime to name a few.

Teaching and studying Physics; teaching is the best profession ever because you get summers and winters off! ^_^ It gives me a tremendous amount of time and opportunity to travel the world and go to interesting places. I just broke the 20 country barrier after visiting Cambodia (Angkor Wat!) and China (Great Wall and Forbidden City wo0t!).

Physics (or else I would be in the wrong profession), Martial Arts (won several tournaments by the tender young age of 17 - Mitose Kenpo, Muay Thai, Aikido and a smattering of: Shotokan, Wing Tsun, Boxing, Jiujitsu, and about 10 years of sword training), b-boyin' (I've got my own unique style), computers (wrote my first program at the age of 7, spent several years working in the IT field, can program in 5 languages), remembering (often random and useless) information, adapting and thinking on my feet (probably why I love to teach so much), throwing fun parties, finding the bright side of things and being positive, cooking Japanese food, being a smartass (which is better than being a dumbass), curing boredom, and making a girl feel special (as long as she treats me right).

My piercing gaze, my deep voice, my articulate speech, my sharp wit, and my warm personality.

Books? The Book of Five Rings (Miyamoto Musashi), The Hobbit (J. R. R. Tolkien), and The Alchemist (Paolo Coehlo) to name a few.

Movies? Seven Samurai (Akira Kurosawa's masterpiece) I like a lot of foreign cinema actually. Hollywood can't film good fight scenes; they always do close-ups when they should be panning out to show the battle in its entirety. Asian films are much better for that; Ong Bak, Enter the Dragon, Fist of Legend, etc. beat Rocky and Rambo any day . . . though some of the Hollywood remakes aren't too bad. Comparing say Last Man Standing and Yojimbo for instance is pretty fun.

Shows? Samurai Champloo, Cowboy Bebop, and *cough* Naruto *cough* I actually don't watch TV, though I do find myself watching random stuff on Netflix sometimes. I really liked Breaking Bad and Game of Thrones (but maybe that's because I thought the first season was a flawless adaptation of the first book?).

Music? Nujabes, DJ Shadow, old school ('90's) hiphop, old and new school breaks, electronica, reggae, metal (used to be the vocalist in a band heh) . . . lots of stuff.

Food? My experience is that there is delicious (and not so delicious) food in all cultures; though I'm best at cooking Japanese cuisine. ^_^
