I live in Hoboken, but work and play in Manhattan. The travel agency I work for is in mid-town. Due to my job, my travel perks are abundant and I share them generously with friends, but sometimes a sunset in the Caribbean or in the mountains is best shared with a "non-friend" ;) I travel some for work but mostly for pleasure...my faves so far have been Germany for the architecture and beer, Hungary for the culinary aspect, and Greece because it's the stuff postcards are made of. I also quite enjoy good ole fashioned New England BB's and Inns for a weekend away.
My love of college football (Geaux Tigers!) rivals that of the Pope's love for praying. I live for Saturday's in the fall (Florida Gator fans need not apply). Being a Southerner, there are things I just didn't have easy exposure to growing up (e.g. ice hockey, skiing, MLB, winter homes/cabins in the mountains) that I am more than happy to give it a go if my partner is passionate about it.
Two years ago this January I took off running and have completed a number of half and full marathons and a couple of ultra-marathon relays. One ultra was with a team of 6 people and we ran 126.2 miles from Baton Rouge to New Orleans in less than 17 hours. The race finished in NoLa during Mardi Gras. Obviously we stuck around for three days to eat and drink away all the good we had just done for our bodies. It was awesome! I would also like someone who looks after himself but doesn't eat steamed chicken and broccoli every night for dinner. Honestly, the only reason I work out is so I can eat. Three cheers for bacon!
