I like to laugh. I like to make people laugh. I'm from Texas, but only enough that I like Tex-Mex and Shiner Bock and not so much that I own a gun. I've lived through 5 consecutive Minnesota winters and dozens of Texas summers, so I'm a tough dame. I like England and I've lived for a couple of years in London. I drink tea and not coffee, but that's not because I like English things, it's because coffee tastes like dirt to me, but I can see why people like it. I have a crooked smile and it is often one of my favorite things about myself. I can't whistle, but I can roll my tongue. I have lots of freckles.

That's me, albeit in a slightly rambling nutshell.

I work in television, I dabble in creative stuff, and I want to learn how to freestyle rap. I may or may not be kidding.

Books: Salinger is my favorite author- "Frannie and Zooey" and "Nine Stories" particularly. I like Fitzgerald's short stories and Neil Gaiman's everything. Hugh Laurie's novel "The Gun Seller" is surprisingly great, too.

Movies: I like comic book films and indie films and big budget blockbusters and Woody Allen. I see movies as often as I can.

Shows: Parks and Rec, Homeland, Doctor Who, Louie, Girls, Modern Family, Sherlock, Spaced, Arrested Development, the umpteen seasons of How I Met Your Mother, IT Crowd and a whooooole lot more.

Music: Depends on the day; Vampire Weekend's new album is currently swimming in my earholes. Top tracks in iTunes currently The Kinks, Everything Everything, Nina Simone, Head and the Heart, Macklemore and Ryan Lewis, Mumford and Sons and Eagles of Death Metal. But I own a lot of jazz records. A lot.

Food: I live by the rule that I will try anything once. I'm not really a picky eater.

Music. Friends. Television. Laughing. That moment when the last bite of what you eat is the best bite and you're perfectly happy. Books.
