I'm a funny and creative person who gets a big kick out of life.
Honesty, sincere, passionate, warm, with a terrific sense of humor
are some of my qualities. I write for a living and also write for
myself. I wake up every morning with enthusiasm and great
expectations. I would describe myself as having an unconventional
personality. I'm well read. Film and art are my passions.
People have said I am awesome. A few have had have slightly
different opinions--but they come around!
I value friendship. I believe in love.
What I’m doing with my life
I love what I do. I'm in advertising and it's still for me one of
the greatest joys in my life. It keeps me vital. I'm also writing
my own work. I finished a 279 page memoir. At this moment, I'm
sending it out and waiting for the rejection notes to come in--and
that holy acceptance note, too.

Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh, this is the tough one. I've read so many books and have seen so
many films. I went to film school. I'm not much of a fan of many
films that are out now. Some. But I do like Italian films, French
films, classic, comedy...I have low culture and high culture
tastes. I like Mob films, naturally Godfather I and II (and love it
when I see people here never putting III in.), Sexy Beast, loved
Pino, love Goddard and Bunuel, Fellini, just saw Il Sorpasso with
Vittorio Gassman and that had a cool 60's vibe, Antononioni--all
the films that make me look pretentious here. I'm not a big fan of
Spielberg--hate Woody Allen, think he's a wannabe french film
auteur. Some independent films. I'm on the celluloid side of the
digital versus celluloid argument.
Books: I read mostly non fiction. But I do enjoy literary works. I
have low and high culture tastes here, too I read a lot of mob
books and World War II books, but also lots of art books and
biographies. Almost every book published on film, if it doesn't
feel like a re-tread. Bukowski. Love Leonard Cohen's poems. Etc,
As for music, again, very eclectic. It has to have some R&B
soul and swing. I'm really into rockabilly right now and love going
to Otto's Shrunken Head on 14th St when the cool Japanese guys hold
Rebel Night--rockabilly has a lot of American history in it. But I
also listen and moved to Gospel, blues, rock, old school hip hop
and some new school hip hop if it has a good hook and isn't
overproduced. I appreciate jazz but it doesn't reach me physically.
I like to feel the music and love to move to it. So whatever does
that, I'm in.
