I am odd, passibly intelligent, and hopeful.

My Self-Summary

I'm nerdy and quirky. I'm human so I make mistakes. I am many emotions at different times. I'm a lover of human interaction. I'm not a renaissance man but I strive to be one. I'm an engineer. I'm a musician. I'm a writer. I'm a photographer. I'm a cyclist. I'm a lifetime student of everything my brain allows me to learn. I'm one to give everyone and everything at least one chance.

What I’m doing with my life

Many things. I'm currently searching for a job within Aerospace though I've got some photography jobs and some other stuff that helps me pay the bills for the time being. I'm also pursuing music with a band here in Houston, in which I play bass guitar, saxaphone, and sing. I do photography, which I've been doing for about 8 years now. I'm just trying my best to get by at the moment.

I’m really good at

Well according to other people I'm good at many particular things. I'm a decent scientist and student of the sciences, as well a knower of much useless knowledge.

I'm a decent bassist and singer and I love music and the study of music in the many forms it takes shape. It's a big thing for me. I wrap my emotions and self into music.

I'd say that I'm decent with a camera at capturing emotions and particular sides of people, you should check it out yourself (http://clickpictony.com).

I'm a pretty good at listening and at being in conversations in general.

Some people point out how I laugh at inappropriate or what some might find disturbing things and that my laugh is a bit maniacal. To give you reference, I laughed at pretty much every one of the Joker's jokes in the Dark Knight film, particularly the one of giving Batman the reverse addresses so that he would save Harvey and not Rachel. I also laughed during the last scene in There Will Be Blood. Not because it was terrible, but because I loved it that much I couldn't contain myself. I'm giving you the warning now.

The first things people usually notice about me

My curly mustache (which I don't wax; it curls naturally) and my pointy beard. I'm not sure whether it's a good thing or a bad thing.

In earlier versions of Dungeons & Dragons, 3.5 and previous, Tieflings have any of a number of features that reference (directly or indirectly) their fiendish lineage. These include, but are not limited to, horns located on their heads, pointed sharp teeth, extra fingers, cloven hooves in place of feet, tails, and unusually colored eyes. They exude a feeling of "evil" even though their race has become civil and no longer lusts for power. Many races distrust or outright hate Tieflings seeing them as devil worshippers. Tiefling villains often live up to this reputation, whereas player characters have the choice to abandon this stereotype.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food

Ok, so I'll make an attempt to hit some of the big ones of each.

Books: Many things by Isaac Asimov (particularly his non-fiction), Neil Gaiman (novels and graphic novels), Arthur Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes is a fantastic character), Frank Herbert (The Dune series is awesome, particularly Dune and Dune Messiah), and Bill Fitzhugh (both Organ Grinders and Cross-Dressing were good). I love many other classics including Dracula, Frankenstein, Inferno, Shakespearean plays, etc. I also read graphic novels (100 Bullets, Walking Dead, Sandman, Preacher, Books Of Magic, 30 Days of Night, Maus, etc). I also have to mention that I just got into Haruki Murakami. I just read Norwegian Wood and Hard-Boiled Wonderland/End of the World and they were both amazing.

Movies: Well I just inventoried my movie collection and I own 147 movies so this will be hard, but I'd say some representative ones include Amelie, American Psycho, Army of Darkness, Brick, Dancer In The Dark, Dogms, Dr. Strangelove, Hot Fuzz, The Incredibles, Kung Fu Hustle, Little Miss Sunshine, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Meaning of Life, Mirrormask, Pi, Princess Bride, Pulp Fiction, Quills, The Royal Tenenbaulms, Secretary, SLC Punk, There Will Be Blood, This Is Spinal Tap, V Is For Vendetta, and Wallace and Gromit.

Music: I love pretty much all music. My three favorites are Beethoven, The Beatles, and Bjork. All three bring an emotion and musical knowledge that is not seen often and I really appreciate that. I'd say I'm a non-pretentious indie hipster at the moment. This would include listening to Elliot Smith, Built To Spill, Stephen Malkumus, Belle and Sebastian, The Shins, the Decemberists, Hefner, and a slew of others. I love to listen to "classical" music: Phillip Glass, Beethoven, Debussy, Bach, Chopin, John Cage, Mendelssohn, Berg, etc. I also enjoy some good rock from older groups like the Stones, Pink Floyd, and Zeppelin as well as more recent stuff from bands like Muse, Nirvana, Rage. I'll listen to New Wave and electronic and some pop (Gorillaz have to be one of my favorite pop bands). I'll even give hip hop a try if it is not about bitches and crystal and all that crap. I actually enjoy political/social hip hop artists. And most country is terrible in my book with the exception being some of the classics, particularly Johnny Cash. I will always listen to everything at least once though before formulating an opinion.

Food: I'm definitely not a picky eater. I'll even eat vegetarian dishes though I'm not one. I love Asian cuisines, Indian food is amazing, good Mexican and Tex-Mex as long as it is spicy and they use good ingredients, Italian is fantastic, and so is Greek food. I'm almost always up for a good sandwich or burger and I can almost never say no to a good piece of meat, particularly steak, pork chops, or some good seafood.

The six things I could never do without

Music, Photography, Friends, Books, Bicycles, and Things to Learn

I spend a lot of time thinking about

Too many things. My mind goes to many places very quickly so one moment I'm thinking philosophy, the next I'm thinking photography, the next is a song stuck in my head, and the next is a problem I'm going over.

On a typical Friday night I am

I usually try to just relax and have a good time with good people. Maybe a movie and some drinks. Maybe out catching a show. Maybe exploring and shooting a few photos. Whatever happens, happens.

The most private thing I’m willing to admit here

Well there was that one time... and how about that... well I think I'll just say that I'm human and I can make mistakes and live my life my way.

You should message me if

You think you are interested in talking to me or want to know any more. Feel free to ask any questions you like. I'll more then likely answer truthfully because if not, then what is the point.
