My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
FYI: I'm in a happy long term relationship and use this thing to meet new friends and others in the greater Portland area. I'd still love to get to know you regardless!

An anthropologist, a geek, and a long term social justice organizer who, with the advent of summer, hopes to move on to a different horizon be it graduate school in International Relations or other adventure. I can be a dreamy idealist, but try to tether myself if I get a little too buoyant.

I live for good food; from the field, to the kitchen, to the table. I cook and have since I was a child. I'm only now just getting in touch with the 'from the field' side. When not reading or hooked up to the web or spending time with my wonderful friends, I can be found curled up in tea shops, going for hikes, and biking and kayaking (when the weather is fair and I can get my hands on either!)

Car adventures and travel are necessities I can't do without, especially in the summer. International history and politics are my mantra; I have special weakness for all things Russian and historically oriented. I also love computers and computer games; I'm fascinated by the human condition and I think games are an incredible medium by which we can explore this.

I'm open to doing, seeing, and learning anything and meeting anyone provided that either are neither harmful or based in willful ignorance.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
After a grueling campain season, I'm happy to say I'm out of campaign politcs (at least for a while). I currently work for a national cancer advocacy group, mobilizing survivors, family members, and allies on legislative issues.

On the reading front, I'm working my way through a 1953 copy of "The Long Goodbye", having recently been bitten by the noir gumshoe bug. After that, it's either a collection of writings by F. Scott Fitzgerald about booze aptly titled "On Booze" or finishing "House of Leaves".

I am also scrimping and saving to get my mitts on a cello. I'd explain, but does want of a cello really need ot be explained? Okay, sure, I'll explain it further: Yo Yo Ma.

Aside from that, I'm planning a raised terrace garden to go behind my building in a wonderful grassy spot. In the mean time, this just means a lot of planning and watching my seedlings grow in their seed flats by my window sill.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Cooking. Seriously, give me a chance to prep a nice meal for a group of folks. It's my zen after 10 hour days organizing volunteers. I make a mean pasta bolognese, huevos rancheros con chorizo, or pan seared salmon with crispy skin over sushi rice with menma, avocado, and spicy mayo.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I would guess my disproportionately deep voice and tall, thin stature, a devistating cowlick and my propensity for food consumption.

Music: This is such an incredibly long and eclectic list, I'm not going to bother. I literally listen to everything and anything.
Food: Pretty much the same as above, however there may be a few firsts among equals. I love real Mexican cuisine i.e. Baja or Oaxacan. I love anything starting in Vietnam and moving north. Spanish food is a forgotten land of food here in the US.

And at the risk of scaring off some...Games: The Thief series, The Elder Scrolls series, Deus Ex: Human Revolution, all of the Soul Calibur, TF2, and of course, pen & paper RPGs and table games of all colors!

On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
Fridays are anything but typical.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have an incredibly bad habit of casing joints. Nothing is spared, banks, boutiques, you name it. I should go into security with all the holes I find...
