My self-summary
I will fill this in later. I promise it's coming, but honestly I am -terrible- at this sort of thing. I need a little time to write something that isn't amazingly bad.

I am Inquisitive, Determined, and Highly flammable
What I’m doing with my life
Currently, I am taking a little bit of a break from a fast-paced existence. I recently received my honorable discharge from the United States Marine Corps after five years of active service, approximately three of which were spent overseas.

I'll be headed back to school this fall. I'm looking forward to furthering my education! The military was good to me, and it did a lot to help me mature, but it was simply not what I wanted to do with the entirety of my adult life. I am a firm believer that knowledge is power (Yay for cliche statements!), and while my time in the Marines took me to many places and gave me a wonderful variety of experiences, I feel it's time to expand my knowledge base.
I’m really good at
I am an amazing procrastinator. No, really, if there is any possible way to put something off, I'll likely find it!

Seriously though, I've been told that I am a good manager of people. Give me a task, some help, and I'll find a way to focus the efforts of not only my people, but myself and accomplish whatever the task, regardless of adverse circumstances. I've also been told that I am a good listener and a good communicator. I find it to be very gratifying to be able to take in the concerns of my significant other, my friends, or my coworkers, and find a way to help fix their problems. I'm a problem solver at heart, and it shows through in everything I do.

I'm also good at World of Warcraft. Yep, I'm a bit of a nerd, but everyone has a nerdy side. Thankfully my nerdy side doesn't interfere with my ability to shower. Don't tell my buddies that are still in the service, though. I'd hate to have to explain to them my enjoyment of a video game over mindless rabble-rousing at the bar. xD

Oh, and I am an -amazing- F/A-18 Hornet avionics technician. Seriously! While stationed in Japan, I submitted a recommendation regarding troubleshooting and maintenance procedures on the aircraft communications systems. It was so good and so effective that the Department of the Navy (which also oversees the US Marine Corps) ordered a change to the maintenance manuals used by every fighter squadron in the Navy and Marine Corps. Oh yeah. I'm awesome! (Sorry, I'll set my boasting switch to 'off' now. :) )
The first things people usually notice about me
Questions like this confuse me. I mean, aside from someone trying some lame pick-up line, how often does someone start out a conversation with "Hello, my name is [insert name]! The first thing about you that struck me was your [thing they noticed first]!"

If I had to guess, it would likely be my wit, and the way I carry myself. I pride myself in a scathing wit. Why settle for a crude joke when I can use a more intelligent barb instead? I also tend to carry myself with a quiet confidence. Because it's a quiet confidence, I'm not sure if people notice it. I think they do though.

Aside from that? I really don't know. I think I am, at the end of the day, fairly ordinary. Maybe you should tell me what you first noticed. Then I can complete this section without having to pull something out of my rear.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Oh, boy. There is so, so much stuff I could list here. For the sake of you, the reader, I'll try to keep this list as concise as possible.

Books! To be quite honest, if it has words, I will read it. I am an absolutely avid reader. I'm currently reading Books of Blood, Volumes I-III by Clive Barker. If I had to list my absolute favorite books though, they'd likely be the Lord of the Rings Trilogy, One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, A Clockwork Orange, and, don't laugh, but World War Z.

Movies? Yeesh. These questions are relentless! I am a huge fan of two types of movies, really. I adore movies that make me think, and that have morally ambiguous characters. Yes, black and white, good and evil has a place, and can be entertaining, but it generally doesn't generate characters that are as interesting or as engaging. I also really like B horror movies, especially old zombie movies. Most of them are just so bad they're funny. Evil Dead, I'm looking at you!

Music. This is really getting harder and harder. I listen to almost everything. From Black Metal to Trance, I will likely enjoy it. What I am listening to is very dependent upon my mood. I am also very prone to going on binges of various bands for a few days before getting sick of them and moving on to a new band that I'll quickly overexpose myself to. My only musical dislikes are country, though I can tolerate it, and the teenybopper, bubblegum pop crap. No. Thanks.

Oh, and no polka. Fuck polka.

Food? Finally, that's easy! While I'll try almost anything once (the strangest thing I've ever eaten was probably a deep-fried scorpion), I really like red meat, and seafood. I am a huge fan of Japanese fare, though unlike most, I prefer Sashimi to Sushi. Oh, and for those that didn't know, yes, there is a difference. Thai and Indian fare is good too, I love curry.
The six things I could never do without
Well, discounting food, water, and shelter...

-My PC.
-My Ipod.
-My friends, though I am not sure my friends would appreciate being classified as 'things'.
-The ability to read.
-My family.
-My cell phone.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What I actually would do for a Klondike bar. Oh, and probably tangible things like what I want to do with myself.
On a typical Friday night I am
Most weekends, I stay in. I don't frequent busy clubs or bars much anymore. I had my fill of that while I was in the service. If I do go out, I prefer to go out to a hole in the wall bar with my friends to have some beer and talk about who knows what, or see a movie, or something equally boring.

Does that mean I'm getting old? :/
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
Um. I don't really know what I have to admit that's worth admitting. I'm a pretty easygoing, open sorta guy. If you'd like to know anything, just ask. I don't bite, I promise.

Well, sometimes I do, but only if the price is right. *Winkwinknudgenudge*

...Too far? Yeah, I thought so. Sorry.

Update! I was told I am kinky. That's cool, I guess!
