Update: I am in a relationship now (yeah my profile suggests i wasn't looking for love but these things happen. . .)

I'm a mid-westerner and a fresh transplant to the DC area. I've been working overseas on and off for the last several years or so and will only in DC for a few months at a time in between months of travel. I am far more interested in meeting interesting, entertaining and creative people to explore the area with than anyone to date.
I am adventurous, bipedal, and not left handed
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I spent most of the last 4 years living overseas fulltime working my ass off and am giving stateside life a go again. I've been attempting to get settled back into some semblance of real life again which includes still working too much, travelling as much as possible, learning how to sail, checking out new restaurants (actually all of them will be new so that leaves lots of options,) and exploring the DC area.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
skirting the issue at hand.
The first things people usually notice about me

Usually first my eyes, then my smart ass.

Books: Anything by Neil Stephenson, Douglas Adams, David Sedaris, JRR Tolkein, Dr Seuss, Shel Silverstein, Neil Gaiman, Joss Whedon, Grant Morrison or Richard Scarry.

Movies: Bladerunner, T2, Return of the Jedi, Flash Gordon, Lock Stock and Two Smoking Barrels, Ghost in the Shell, The Big Lebowski, American Beauty, Monty Python, Coraline, Lord of the Rings, Amelie, Indiana Jones, James Bond, Aliens, The Fifth Element, Fight Club and anything by Hayao Miyazaki, Jean Pierre Jeunet or Terry Gilliam.

Music: I'm currently loving on lots of funk, catchy dancy Europop/JPop and anything with cool guitar/bass that I might be able to play. Aaaaand in no particular order, I'm quite fond of Bjork, U2, Led Zeppelin, Queen, OK Go, Nouvelle Vague, Suzanne Vega, Electric Light Orchestra, Crystal Castles, Shpongle, Lee Burridge, Wolf and Lamb, Maya Jane Coles, The Chemical Brothers, Phoenix, The Knife, Paul Simon, Blur, Beck, Blind Melon, Chromeo, The Beatles, The Pixies, The Killers, The Beastie Boys, The B-52's, The Strokes, The Bravery, The Cars, The The, Plej, Duran Duran

Food: I'll never turn down Mexican or Japanese but I'm a complete foodie and dig on most cuisine. Though strangely enough I wholly dislike peanut butter. (Don't make me try your secret recipe extra awesome peanut butter cookies, I won't like them, I promise.) I used to be famous for my dinner parties but I'm seriously out of practice.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
-Others would describe you as clever and snarky.

-You touch your inner/outer nerd.

You should probably move on if you are looking for a boyfriend, spend most of your time watching TV (I don't own one and generally am lousy conversation at discussing what went on in the latest shows) or if you have six fingers on your right hand.
