The world is a pretty unfair place and I know how lucky I am to be born into the situation I have been. I do my best to live a honest life and help those around me, while getting as much enjoyment out of life as I can. I have a hard time sitting still, get bored quickly, and love to travel.

Books: Kurt Vonnegut, A Song of Ice and Fire, the Foundation series, The Stranger, The Idiot, anything by Jim Corbett

Movies: The Life Aquatic, Moonrise Kingdom, Snatch, Anchorman, Zoolander, Black Dynamite, Event Horizon, Dead Alive!, anything by Kubrick, and many by Tarantino

Shows: Game of Thrones, Archer, Breaking Bad, 30 Rock, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and all other HBO series and comedies.

Music: Despite my early obsession with classic rock, jam bands, brass bands, the Grateful Dead, and sublime, I am currently consumed by hip-hop. Too many too list, but if you don't like hip-hop, I can probably find something you like. Check out (http://chanceraps.com/)

Food: Absolutely everything except the occasional strange creature, organ meat, durian, monkey brain, and smelly/soft textured seafood.

-My car and sound system: one of my favorite activities is to just drive and listen to good hip-hop

-My boat: I am a saltwater and sun person. My boat gets me out there.

-Travel: I love seeing new places, meeting new people, and getting into adventures. Travel is also a great way to keep myself from falling into a routine. So grateful to be born into the peak of the airplane era, and I take full advantage of being able to get to the other side of the world in half a day.

-The sun: I used to live up north (Virginia and Mass growing up, and went to undergrad at Duke). I can't deal with dark winters, which is why I live in Florida now. I need the sun to recharge.

-Friends: I love a variety of people, but am general attracted to the eccentric, highly-motivated, empathetic, humanist, existential, or artistic folk I meet. I love people for who they are, whether I can have an intense philosophical conversations with them or just talk about sports in the back room of Gator City

-My eyes: as much as I love music, eating good food, or tasting good whiskey, I would have an extremely hard time as a blind man.

How the hell to fill in a dating profile, and if I'll delete it this week or next.

Out with friends drinking and playing pool, darts, shuffleboard, karaoke (always Barbie Girl by Aqua), or oversized Connect Four. Maybe traveling, sitting on my boat fishing, cooking, reading, working, or playing ice hockey.

I have several single-serving bottles of white wine in my fridge for cooking.
