My self-summary
Considerations and Reflections
I sometimes find it difficult to find a good way to start a conversation with the women that catch my attention. A number of women often say that they want more than a comment about their physical appearance or a simple "Hi, how are you?". I've come to the conclusion that you have a responsibility to provide enough information in your profile for others to formulate an interesting question or comment. That's what I've attempted to do here and if you want more interesting introductions, improving your profile may be a good place to start.

Who I'm looking for
I'm looking for an intelligent, motivated, active and generally healthy (skinny/athletic/average build, good hygiene, takes pride in her health and appearance). Since I'm not exactly a tall man (5'8"), I tend to be most attracted to short women, but that's not a hard and fast rule.
I'd prefer a woman that has a career (not just a job) or at least is actively pursuing one.

If you're currently involved with someone or still have interest and/or unfinished business with an ex, please don't contact me until you've tied up those loose ends.

Random Facts and Opinions
I am fluent in sarcasm.
Favorite quote: "Experience is something you don't have until just after you need it." (Steven Wright).
Although I work in IT, I'm not a gamer or a nerd. My Xbox 360 is used almost exclusively for Netflix purposes and although I am a fan, I don't want to talk about the philosophy of Star Wars, Star Trek, or any other nerd-cult/stereotype.
Breaking Bad was the greatest made-for-TV drama ever. Period.
I despise 99% of all country music - especially the modern stuff.
My sense of humor has been described as inappropriate, dark, vulgar, etc. Very little is taboo. I typically can judge my audience well. If you're the kind of woman that appreciates the "Too soon?"-type of jokes, you may be right for me.
Although my sense of humor is inappropriate, my manners are not. My parents taught me respect and chivalry.
Discrimination is ignorance. Jokes about discrimination are hilarious.
I have tattoos and plan on more. One of which being a sleeve. Eventually maybe two sleeves.
As you may have noticed, I look rather young for my age. I didn't really appreciate this gene until I was in my 30s. I'm thinking that at this rate, at 50 I should like like 35. How awesome will that be?
What I’m doing with my life
I'm an IT professional in the healthcare industry. I like what I do and care a lot about my career. It would be best if you did, too.
In my free time I like improving my home. I'm a DIYer, but occasionally will pay the professionals.
Learning from my mistakes in hopes of not repeating them. I sometimes do, however.
Hoping to find someone special that will help me do even more with my life.
I’m really good at
*Finding the humor - however inappropriate - in just about anything.
*Bowling.
*Racquet sports: Tennis, racquetball, pickleball
*Volleyball & wallyball
*Home improvement projects
*Common sense
*Over-thinking things (it can be a good thing, right?)
*Being creative (thinking outside the box, as they say)
*Identifying celebrity voices in commercials
The first things people usually notice about me
My stunning physical appearance, obviously. It's apparently so powerful that it causes women short-term amnesia, impacting their ability to recall ever having seen me. Effectively, it's like they don't noticed me at all. I assume that this is some sort of built in defense mechanism of the female psyche.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
Movies
I love Pulp Fiction, The Matrix, Fight Club, Tombstone, The Devil's Rejects, The Big Lebowski, Inception, Snatch, Se7en, The Shawshank Redemption, Lawless

TV
Breaking Bad, Sons of Anarchy, Orange Is The New Black, American Horror Story, The Walking Dead, Family Guy and The Cleveland Show are among my favorite television shows. I prefer watching the learning channels and particularly enjoy Through the Worm Hole and The Universe. Sadly, I've been enjoying MTV's Guy Code and Guy Court. Ugh.

Music
I love music but I don't listen to country or most top 40. I prefer non-mainstream music for the most part. Examples: Django Django, Daft Punk, Cut Copy, The Black Keys, Tool, A Perfect Circle, Girl Talk, Foster the People, Crystal Castles, Chromeo, Caribou, Broken Bells, The Dead Weather, Damon Albarn, Gorillaz, The Good, The Bad & The Queen, Ghostland Observatory, The Kills, Man Man, Miike Snow, Miami Horror, Rage Against the Machine, One Day as a Lion, Passion Pit, The Phenominal Handclap Band, Raconteurs, Them Crooked Vultures, Vampire Weekend, The XX, Miami Horror, MGMT, Franz Ferdinand, Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros. I'm tired. If you've read through all of those, you have too much time on your hands.

Food
I pretty much like all food. I ate horse while I was in Germany. It was delicious. I don't like canned spinach, but love most veggies.
The six things I could never do without
Music (sans 99% of all country music)
Affection (I like to love and be loved)
Technology (I have an insatiable appetite for data and connectivity)
Dark Chocolate (ok, I could live without it, but why?)
At least one long-term goal (I'm one motivated mo-fo)
Coffee (dark, black, no sugar)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Everyone says that I have to be funny and unique on this site in order to attract attention, so I tend to spend a lot of time figuring out how to be funny.

What I can't figure out is how to be unique; the only way to see other guys' profiles is to change my sexual preference and look, but then I might send the wrong message and have to break their little hearts. And what if they didn't like me? I just don't think that I could take that kind of rejection.
On a typical Friday night I am
Often times I'm at the pub (not club) with my usual circle of friends. During this time, I almost always end up observing some couple where it seems like the woman could do much better than the guy that she is with. I can't help but wonder how and why this happens and hope that somehow I'll figure it so that I can be that guy.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I have a man-crush on Brad Pitt, Johnny Depp, Ryan Reynolds, Ryan Gosling and Channing Tatum. I want to hate Channing, but I just can't.

Update: Mark Wahlberg used to be on the list, but I watched an interview where he seemed overly religious.

'Man Crush', as defined by Urban Dictionary: When a straight man has a "crush" on another man, not sexual but kind of idolizing him.
I would add to that definition "and having a sincere appreciation for his appearance and personality".
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 24–40
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating
You should message me if

You shouldn't message me if
-You don't meet the criteria I've defined above in the "My Self-summary" section.
-You cannot or will not attempt to use proper spelling, grammar, and syntax. You don't have to be an English major, but laziness and ignorance are unattractive.
-You do not have pictures (plural) in your account.
