My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I grew up back East and left to escape the cold and general mindset of the people I kept running into. I just completed my doctoral dissertation and finally graduated last May. Yaay!!

I work with kids and they're cool, but sometimes the adults they associate with (teachers, parents, etc.), not so much.

Unlike most men, I enjoy sports and tend to enjoy competition... This includes watching football/baseball and participating in most games. I hate losing, but I'm a good sport :)
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I'm a practicing School Psychologist and no, that does NOT mean I can read your mind, and yes I AM analyzing everything you say ;)

I have finally finished school and feel like the world is my oyster. My passport is current. Suggestions?

When I first moved out to Arizona, I thought that SDCA was my place to settle down because it encompasses my favorite things in life: Sun, the ocean/beach, and music. This way I can enjoy beautiful weather year round. If California can improve its education standards and economical ridiculousness, I'm there. Until this change, do I stay in the AZ frying pan of ridiculous politics and scary ultra-conservatives?
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
I can be a bit of a smart-ass at times, which I guess I'm pretty good at. If you're cool (genuine), I can be an awesome friend. I'm also a 'nice-guy' to a fault, thanks to too much t.v. indulgence and romantic comedies through out my life.
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
Well, I'm told my eyes, because they're big and brown because I'm full of ... insights. Hopefully its not some food stuck in my teeth lol.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

a) I mostly read for enjoyment when I'm waiting to get on a plane or for a doctor's appointment in their lobby. Outside of that, I read to increase my own professional competency. I don't consider myself well read in terms of novels, biographies and other wonderful literary resources, but I really do hold individuals who are in high regard.

b) I feel like I was raised by movies and T.V. and have quite a gamut of pop-culture info. I tend to enjoy a variety of genres

P.S. I know that many women indicate wanting a guy with a good sense of humor, but if you cannot tolerate The League, Family Guy, It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, or Robot Chicken, I don't know if I can appreciate YOUR sense of humor ;) I have netflix currently and am catching up on the shows I've missed out on for the past couple of years that I did not have cable or TV programming.

c) Music is my solace. My favorite activity is going to a show (NOT a concert) to see my favorite bands. I tend to listen to indie-rock, alternative acoustic, punk rawk, pop-punk, folk/blue grass, and yes even some emo. I feel like I listen to a lot of other types of music (sans country, hardcore, jazz, and classical lol). At the moment, I tend to steer towards The Head and the Heart, Ray LaMontagne, The Lumineers, Mumford and Sons, Bon Iver, Of Monsters and Men, The Avett Brothers, Blind Pilot, Imagine Dragons, and Walk the Moon.

d)Italian is my favorite food genre, but I enjoy a ton of variety (the spice of life). I will eat it unless there are Fear Factor ingredients in it.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Friends
2. Family
3. my computer/internet
4. tasty foods
5. sunshine
6. my Ipod/Pandora
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
My future; I always wonder whether or not I am choosing a career that I can survive in (all helping-professions have a high burn-out rate for optimistic young people trying to change the world). I also think about relationships, and when/where I'll find my better half. While I'm not in any rush, I'll admit that watching my friends find happiness in settling down to start families gives me another thing to look forward to.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
De-stressing from the sheer exhaustion created by the week. It might include happy hour with my friends, or just plain coming home to relax with some wonderful food and a movie. As the weather gets warmer, weekend camping trips are planned.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit

I put too much stock into match%. I often fail to take into account that match% just means we answered the question the same way. Of the successful relationships I've seen, most of these couples have so many differences that their partner probably would be around a 60% match.

Also, I'm impressed with women who are NOT traditional in the sense that they too are willing to send the first message. Thank you for eliminating some double standards :)
You should message me if
Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
you would like to get to know me more and vice versa. You might find that fewer of the single ones left are assholes than originally presumed ;) You should also message me if you have a really high Enemy percent rating... I may need to keep an eye on you.

UPDATE: Recently I've noticed that I've browsed profiles, was interested, rated the person highly, and then for whatever random reason didn't message... Sorry. I have yet to determine if this is unconsciously on purpose (being a wuss), or if I am THAT distractable. (I'm leaning towards the latter)
