I am sitting in the dark, watching 30 Rock, and drinking coffee.
My Self-Summary
I love Netflix. I spoil my cats. Sometimes I eat popcorn for
dinner. I go running in the rain. Tornadoes and earthquakes terrify
me (I've never actually experienced either one). I've never been to
California or Canada. I don't know how to put chains on my car
tires. I'm an atheist. I love Christmas.
Also, just so you know, I'm not actually in Minnesota yet. I'm
moving after Christmas.
What I’m doing with my life
Going to graduate school part-time, planning my move to the Twin
Cities, stressing out about the likelihood of being unemployed
after moving.
I’m really good at
Writing papers at the last minute and getting good grades on them,
shopping at thrift stores, running fast, eating candy.
The first things people usually notice about me
Probably that spiffy new bag I just got from REI.
My favorite books, movies, music, and food
Such a silly question. These things change depending on my mood. I
like nonfiction books about history and sociology. Lately I've been
watching more TV than movies (Weeds, Californication, 30 Rock).
I'll listen to any kind of music at least once, especially if I'm
at a show somewhere. If I don't like it, I'll leave and find a
coffee shop. I like pretty much any kind of food, although I don't
eat meat. I'm a former vegan. I was all self-righteous about it and
whatnot, very annoying. I'm not like that anymore, although it
would be pretty neat if you were a vegetarian, too. It would make
cooking for each other easier, on those rare occasions that I cook.
The six things I could never do without
Well, a few weeks ago I would have said I can't live without my
iPod, but my iPod died, and I'm doing all right. So who knows?
Maybe I can live without all the things I think I can't live
without. (I am really kind of desperate for a new iPod, though, so
I'm probably wrong.)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Where I'm going to live in Minneapolis. How much money I spend on
veterinary bills. How I should be doing research for grad school
papers instead of editing my OkCupid profile.
On a typical Friday night I am
Thinking about how great it is that it's Friday and I have two days
to work on my schoolwork. (And then I typically wait until Sunday
to actually work on it. 10 years out of high school and I still
haven't mastered the art of getting homework finished before the
last minute.)
The most private thing I’m willing to admit here
Whatever I've already written is about as far as I'm going to go
here. You'll have to find out about the rest of me later.
You should message me if
You've got something more to say than "will u marry me?" No, I will
not marry you. Not yet, anyway, so don't ask. I think we should
meet first, have some coffee, maybe see a movie.
