My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Oy vey. So much to say. So little time.

Well....I skipped this section and did all the rest and now reluctantly return to this. I actually think there's plenty below and in the never ending section of questions, but I'll try to play by the rules.

I'm a goodhearted, intelligent and funny guy. I love a good time, good conversation and good company. I keep it pretty straight faced and hold my cards close to the vest at first, but once I'm comfortable and digging the situation, watch out! You'll never know quite what to expect out of my mouth next.

Curious George was my favorite book as a kid. Cat in the Hat, of course, was right up there.

At first, I'm a pretty nice and normal seeming guy, perhaps even impressive and/or interesting to whatever degree. Some might think I'm boring and vanilla on a quick first impression. Not quite, however. Once you give me reason to open up and you dig a little deeper, you'll see JUST how surprisingly unique and funny I am compared to a hasty impression.

I guess I should get some of the basics out of the way. Grew up in NJ, college in New Orleans (LOVE THAT CITY!!!), grad school in music in Indiana, lived also in Seattle, Zurich and numerous stays for months at a time in other places around the country in my performing journey. Spent many summers as a yout attending and working at an outdoorsy camp up in Maine that is probably the best place on earth. It definitely had a big impact on me and I get back to visit when I can.
I have a lot of great friends from the camp years, the college years, my music world, and of course, from the formative years growing up through high school. To me, people are one of the most important aspects of our lives, so I like to make an effort to cultivate and maintain relationships with good friends from throughout my journey. Likewise, I think that communication is of utmost importance in a relationship and like to keep things as open and honest as possible.

MAN! Is it just me, or is this one long and boring self-summary? Let's just call it a draft. Stay tuned for brilliant, witty and length slashing revision.

Oh, by the way, my user name has nothing to do with NY or where I live.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Woah. That's heavy.
Well, I am currently working as a professional singer. Opera is the main track, but I sing various other gigs as well when they come along, from Jazz to church to choral. Not much of a music snob. As long as it's good, it's good.
I am also very into the stock market. It's quite fascinating to me. So much to be learned about the world as well as oneself from watching and participating in the market. And you can even make money doing it!!!
I'm a pretty go-with-the flow kinda cat.
I really don't take myself too seriously. I just try to do what's right as best I can. I'd like to think I contribute to society and I hope to continue to do so with increasing significance.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge. length. Sometimes it's even really interesting, entertaining and informative!

Listening. I listen well and read people well. I consider myself a pretty perceptive, intuitive guy. Also, I think I'm pretty good at teaching and explaining things.

I can do some mean technical analysis of the financial markets, but somehow that usually doesn't help me woo the ladies too much. :-) Get me talking on that subject and you better be ready for some long-winded geekery. Otherwise, just get cozy, find a pillow and drift off to sleepy land.

Making people laugh. Not on command, of course, but more off the cuff...when you least expect it. I will keep you guessing and always surprise you with the alternating deep thoughts and sheer wacky, weird and wildness going through my head.

I'm a good kisser, so I'm told. ...and the positive reviews don't stop there! (wink wink....nudge nudge) (puke now.)
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I suppose my red hair, though it's not as bright as it once was. More toward auburn, I guess. And that I'm a fairly big guy.
I am somewhat amazed that strangers on the street occasionally feel comfortable calling me, "Big Red."
Also my speaking voice. That it's low and that I sound like a singer.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food

Books - Gotta admit I'm not a heavy reader. But books that were memorable to me.... Alive, Catcher in the Rye, Tuesdays with Morrie, Angels and Demons, Notes from a Low Singer, Reminiscences of a Stock Operator...

Movies....Last of the Mohicans, The Unforgiven, Y tu mama tambien, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory (the original!), The Outsiders, The Story of the Weeping Camel, Reservoir Dogs, Team America, Fritz the Cat, 9 1/2 Weeks, Secratary, American Beauty, Apocalypse Now, Hair, The Godfather, Easy Rider, Dazed and Confused, Anchorman, Old School, and of course, a favorite of anyone who has spent any time on a stage, Waiting for Guffman. LOVE that movie. ;-)

Music....too many to name. Verdi, Parliament/Funkadelic, Schubert, Nat King Cole, Lynyrd Skynryd, Ella Fitzgerald, Stevie Wonder, Mozart, Phish, John Coltrane, Ahmad Jamal, Johnny Hartman, Bryn Terfel, Joe Williams, Nina Simone, Pheobe Snow, Buena Vista Social Club, Cake, Bob Marley, Crosby Stills and Nash, James Taylor, De La Soul, Steely Dan, Led Zepellin, India Arie, Jane's Addiction, Leontyne Price, The Meters, Louis Prima, Miles Davis, Sting, all of the Marsalis clan.

Not into foody talk, but I like it when it tastes good. ;-)
Love me some pizza and very much like all the usual international stuff, Italian, Chinese, Thai, Indiana, Turkish, Cambodian.
As long as it's good and not too over the top, I'm in. (translation, no monkey brains, bull's balls, or raw things that should be cooked)
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
-Pizza - typical American! What can I say?
-An internet connection....(except for when camping or on a secret get-away trip with my lady, of course)
-Stimulation (get your mind out of the gutter!)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
-Roles and Songs I'd like to sing.
-How to make things better.
-How fascinating and puzzling people can be.
-Cookies and milk
-Sexy time
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
enjoying myself one way or another, be it on a stage performing, on my couch relaxing, or out on the town. Friday is perhaps my favorite night of the week. The there's SO long still before Monday roles around again!
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
The carpet matches the drapes.
Is that too much? One would think so, but you'd be amazed how many people actually do ask that question of a red head.

Or if I wrote you. Definitely, write back....Unless you're lame and I misjudged your profile and shouldn't have written you in the first place. Then don't.
See what I did there? ;-)
