My self-summary
The paradox of NYC: The highest concentration of women in the country of appropriate age and similar interests is probably right here, yet meeting one is so challenging. I don't go out to bars or clubs much, and no one dares make eye contact with someone they don't know anywhere else. Trust me, I've tried. When I travel, I meet more people in a weekend than I do in a year here in the city. So, here I am, trying to artificially concoct a way to meet people.
What I’m doing with my life
"Night gathers, and now my watch begins. It shall not end until my death. I shall take no wife, hold no lands, father no children. I shall wear no crowns and win no glory. I shall live and die at my post. I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher on the walls. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the horn that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of men. I pledge my life and honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."
I’m really good at
Speaking English with a (fake) Russian accent. Lifting heavy things. Coaching others at lifting heavy things. Making fun of people who think they're bad-ass solely because they "do Crossfit," (note: this is quite different from actually being really good at Crossfit, which I kind of begrudgingly admit is actually bad-ass). Being simultaneously snarky, sarcastic, and nice (a rare talent, if I do say so myself!).
Also eating. I'm ludicrously good at eating.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm over 6' tall and weigh about 265 and I'm not fat, so people assume I played college football (I didn't, but it's fun to let people think I did). After that, my hair color. My eyes. My propensity to talk (or write) a lot about stuff I'm into, unless you stop me.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
I read voraciously, and am usually reading 2-4 books at once. At the moment I'm typing this, I'm currently reading Dune, a Jack Reacher Novel, A Thousand Dollars and an Idea, Inferno (Dan Brown's, not Dante's) and an exercise physiology textbook. So I guess that's 5.

Astonishingly, my favorite movie and book are one and the same. I've read Lord of the Rings at least 15 times and watched the movies at least 30 times, and can quote lines from both film and book versions. Yes, I am a huge nerd. No, I am not ashamed of this. Other than that, as far as movies: Star Wars (the original and Episode III; the first two of the new trilogy are an unfortunate reality we must deal with), Shawshank Redemption, 12 Angry Men, The Sting, To Kill a Mockingbird, Silence of the Lambs, and The Fugitive all have a place in my favorites, among others. I like old movies, and I love going to the movies. I still get excited right before a movie starts when I'm at the theater.

There's so much more here, let's leave something to discuss over a beer. Or a glass of wine, if you're classy like that.
The six things I could never do without
Barbells. Books. Showers. Food. Independence (both my own and the concept, in general).

I used to have "women" as an answer to this category, but my friend Beth said people will think I'm a womanizer, so I deleted it. That's why I no longer have "women" as one of the things I spend a lot of time thinking about. Nope, not at all. Never a thought about women here, not a single one, no ma'am.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Deadlifting 700 lbs. Soon.
Actin-Myosin cross bridges.
Why I fall asleep so easily in the afternoon, but not at night.
Barbell training and the associated anatomy and physics.
Which character I'd be if I were in Lord of the Rings. Also Star Wars. Also Game of Thrones.
If most religious people really and truly believe in their religion, or just continue participating because it's easier and more pleasant than any of the alternatives.
Why women in NYC refuse to make eye contact in likely places to meet someone with common interests.
If the seemingly huge % of women on okcupid who are vegetarians is representative of the population, or if there is some weird correlation between being a vegetarian and being on okc.
How the circumstances you're born into make such a huge difference.
Food.
If having "work hard, play hard" on their profile automatically makes someone a douchebag. Or maybe they're doing it in an ironic way. Which could also make them a douchebag.
Whether anyone cares that I switched to a third person plural pronoun in the previous thing I spend a lot of time thinking about.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I'm actually only 6' and about a 1/4 inch tall, but since there's no fractions, and I'm technically over 6', I rounded up. Don't tell.

Also, I really liked those Taco Bell "Four Times the Steak" commercials that ran a couple years back. As in Laugh-out-Loud-Uncontrollably liked. Yup, really.

You're a tall, athletic woman. Oh, and athletic does not mean you use the elliptical at the gym a few times a week, or take zumba on your lunch break.

You're intelligent. You're passionate about at least one thing. You're generally positive but not annoyingly over-cheerful all the time. You have a good sense of humor. You dish it out as well as you take it. You desire comfort, but do not see the pursuit of material wealth and possessions as your ultimate purpose in the universe.

If you both noticed and appreciated that none of my pics are selfies, that would be good, too.

If you strive to be skinny, at the expense of limiting your physical performance and capability, I'm probably not interested. For several reasons.
