My self-summary
I was born and raised in Seattle, did a stint in north country farmland, but can't stay away from the city. I went to college without looking for anything in particular, and came out with a degree in English/Creative Writing and Philosophy, because they did more for my mind than my career. Hopefully one day I can put them to work for me.

I'm usually at the gym, reading, watching something funny, or bullshitting with friends. I love MMA and hometown sports. I think the bright side of losing your basketball team is that you can finally root for a team that can win.

I'm so awesome, I just had a baby named after me.
What I’m doing with my life
By day I'm an electrical engineer. I'd love to be a musician, comedian, rapper, poet, chef, food critic, art critic, literature critic, athlete, maybe professional outdoorsman, but they're all just hobbies now.

I try to enjoy every day in any way I can. Taking pleasure in the little things keeps you sane.
I’m really good at
Taming cats, exciting dogs, dodging birds. Drunken Rock Band karaoke. Extroverted introspection. Arcade basketball. Becoming louder as my blood alcohol content rises.
The first things people usually notice about me
I'm almost completely shrouded in mystery. The smile is real.
Favorite books, movies, shows, music, and food
My favorite movie adapted from a book that's about music is High Fidelity, and my favorite musical food is candy whistles. My books are sorted by color. I'm a huge sucker for animated movies in 3D and terrible campy horror.

I really think this section is almost entirely irrelevant, but to satisfy your curiosity:

Music: I usually just open my list of 3 weeks worth of tunes and hit "random," then prepare to either headbang or gang bang. But my favorite music of all time comes from Nirvana, Less Than Jake, Coheed and Cambria, Ozzy-era Black Sabbath, Deftones, Elliott Smith, Me First and the Gimme Gimmes, Girl Talk, Outkast, Nine Inch Nails, and The Dandy Warhols. I've also been listening to a lot of The Rolling Stones, Iggy Pop, and Black Flag-ish bands because I'm playing bass in a band with some friends in a similar style.

Movies: The Blues Brothers, anything by the Coen Brothers (The Big Lebowski is my favorite), Black Dynamite/The Naked Gun/other cheesy parody, westerns, horror, mob/spy/martial arts movies. I also think Vin Diesel out-acted Ben Affleck in Boiler Room. Yeah, that Vin Diesel.

Books: The first four Dune books, Jorge Luis Borges, Dashiell Hammett/Raymond Chandler/hard boiled noir detective novels, Freakonomics, Infinite Jest, Catch-22, Pynchon, George RR Martin, sports analytics stuff

Food: Indian, pho, sushi, hot pot/schezuan
The six things I could never do without
A good library.
A good friend.
Exercise.
Rocking and rolling every night.
Partying every day.
Laughing.
I spend a lot of time thinking about
What city to see next, cognitive dissonance, puns that include the word "pho", a neutral medium for a bear and a shark to fight in so they could have an equal matchup (jell-o? robotic exoskeletons?)
On a typical Friday night I am
Happy hour hopping, hatching a plan, watching a good movie, nerding out with a book, playing some complicated board game, yelling at or about pretty much anything
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
One of these things is a lie:

- People in Japan dance like ME
- I'm terrified of all birds
- A hamburger with grilled cheese sandwiches for buns is just like a cheeseburger with extra bread and you shouldn't be ashamed of eating it on a dare no matter what the person who made it for you says
I’m looking for
  • Girls who like guys
  • Ages 26–34
  • Near me
  • Who are single
  • For new friends, long-term dating, short-term dating, activity partners
You should message me if
- you know the answers to the tough questions. or if you don't, but like to think about them.

- you want to have a pinball face off (or any kind of showdown, really).

- you want to re-enact a scene from Jurassic Park.

- you want to meet a guy from the internet who isn't a huge creep. even if it's just for the story. they're real, i promise.
