My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
I'm a high-spirited guy with an open heart. A classic Libra: easy going, romantic, idealistic. The "urbane and witty" was how I was once described in a newspaper article. A classic Libra (easy going, romantic, idealistic), I've also been described as affable with a ready smile, a droll wit no doubt stemming from my amusement with the absurdities of life (like looking for love on your ipad). Formerly I was an entrepreneur and a p.r. guy for a management consulting firm. Currently, I'm a broadcast professional, an aspiring author, a dilettante musician, and a dedicated pop-pop. I'd also love to be your engaged dining partner, movie and theater companion, walking buddy, Scrabble opponent, but most importantly, your best friend. P.S. I’m also capable in the kitchen and fast in the bathroom…what more could you want in a man?
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
Pitching my latest novel manuscript to literary agents...walking Fresh Pond and the Charles river...doing studio work in TV news...Face Timing with my grandbabies..trying to make sense of life...hanging out with dear friends...and, now that I'm single again, planting seeds for new love.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
thinking out of the box...creating solutions...story telling...making kids laugh...playing pop music on my keyboard (my singing? not so much!)...listening...making people comfortable... designing/furnishing...omelets...recycling
The first things people usually notice about me

Books: Michael Chabon's Adventures of Kavalier & Clay; JK Toole's Confederacy of Dunces, Lee Child's Reacher & Sanborn's Davenport series, Tom Wolfe, Nick Hornby, Joyce Carroll Oates, John Irving, Dennis Lehane, Juno Diaz, Andre duBus occasional pop stuff (Harry Potter, Twilight, HungerGames, etc.)...if someone recommends it, I'll give it a shot!
MOVIES: indy to Hollywood, anything Rotten Tomatoes gives a fresh rating to
MUSIC: stuck in the sixties and seventies although i'll try new things (Recently saw Pink in concert). LOVE musicals but dramatic theater too.
SHOWS: quality TV (Breaking Bad, Mad Men, Sopranos, Dexter, Six Feet Under, In Treatment)...usually get on DVDs...
FOOD: generally Mediterranean diet, but love Italian and other ethnics. I'll go off the wagon, in moderation!
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
writing implements, my g-kids smiles, my keyboard piano, Trader Joe's, close friends, sunshine - and you!
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
why and how
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
sharing conversation and a nice meal
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
It wouldn't be private if I said it here!

Offer a few tips to help matches win you over.
you take pleasure in sharing thoughts on movies, books, news, life, everything; you enjoy being with someone who relentlessly tries to make you laugh out loud (comedy is a numbers game!); you pull your own weight but can trust someone to spot you when you need it (and vice versa!); you delight in dressing up and being a woman as well as rolling in the leaves like a little girl; you don't mind being kissed when you don’t expect it; your greatest joy comes from your relationships. P.S. PLEASE feel free to write and say hello; it would be a shame if we didn't meet because I didn't find you first.
