My self-summary
Write a little about yourself. Just a paragraph will do.
Hello handsome stranger.

I am half Austrian and half Chilean, which makes me a really good dancer and a really bad dancer at the same time. Also because one side of my family is perpetually early and the other is always late, I usually end up being right on time.

I like reading 15 page articles about obscure Mayan tapestries in the New Yorker in Malcolm X Park with some wine, pounding the pavement for a good cause, and going dancing at some wild partay- preferably all in one day.

I'm into new music and am continuously building my music library. I love being dragged along to shows of people I don't know, kicking and screaming, and coming out loving them. 9:30 club and Black Cat are some of my favorite hangouts.

You: probably a labor junky or writer who kicks some ass for the working class. And maybe you have a beard. And maybe glasses.
What I’m doing with my life
Don’t overthink this one; tell us what you’re doing day-to-day.
I do international human rights work.

I like going to protests and the like, surrounding myself with politically minded-passionate people. You definitely get extra points if you hold a megaphone in your pictures.

Lately I have also been really into story telling. There are some cool venues in DC to tell stories, I hope to perform on the Moth stage one day.
I’m really good at
Go on, brag a little (or a lot). We won’t judge.
Laughing at your jokes, entertaining for friends, cooking, making playlists
The first things people usually notice about me
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
My curls.

Books: 100 Years of Solitude, Everything is Illuminated, Infinite Jest, The world According to Garp, House of Spirits, The Brief and Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao, actually anything Junot Diaz has ever touched, Windup Bird Chronicles, and many more! I also love poetry, especially Richard Brautigan, Frank O'Hara, Billy Collins and Pablo Neruda.

Movies: Harold and Maude, Almost Famous, Amores Perros, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Grindhouse, Fargo, Lolita, Psycho, Royal Tenenbaums...And a bunch more that I can't think of right now. I am realizing some of these are a bit dark, but I am not I assure you!

Shows: Mad Men, Arrested Development, lately Game of Thrones (oops). I would like to avoid saying that Girls really speaks to me, but I can't. So there. I said it.

Food: A sweet heirloom tomato in August. Also, sushi, peaches, cheese, Mexican food, and Pad Thai. Pizza. But who doesn't like pizza?

Music, in no particular order: The Smiths, Morrissey, Feist, Stars, Silvio Rodriguez, Billy Holiday, Vampire Weekend, Rilo Kiley, Wilco, The National, Wild Belle, SBTRKT, Leonard Cohen, Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear, Diplo, Jay-Z, Miguel, Nina Simone, Frank Ocean, Sylvan Esso, Ana Tijoux, Fiona Apple, Modest Mouse, James Brown, Parliament, Major Lazer, the Streets, the XX, Kanye West, Chet Faker, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros, James Blake, and Bon Iver and you know, a lot more, and maybe you can turn me on to new bands too?

Public radio anyone? Yes. Please. This American Life, Radiolab and Prairie Home Companion. Also newly added to this list, Welcome to Night Vale and Serial.
The six things I could never do without
Think outside the box. Sometimes the little things can say a lot.
1. Pen and paper (I am always taking notes)
2. iPhone. I hate to admit it but I am so plugged into twitter and co. that I would dearly miss my phone if it disappeared.
3. My siblings
4. Mango juice
5. Music
6. Coffee (one splenda, bit of milk)
I spend a lot of time thinking about
Global warming, lunch, or your next vacation… it’s all fair game.
Social justice and how to make a difference in the world. Music and what to listen to next. Books and what to read or re-read. Travel and where to go on my next trip. Why airplanes can fly. DC gentrification. Why I always go to bed so late. If I prefer the Red Derby over the Looking Glass Lounge.
On a typical Friday night I am
Netflix and takeout, or getting your party on — how do you let loose?
After hours, I am never without music and good conversation. More often than not enjoy both over a glass of wine or bourbon. I could be dancing , playing the jukebox at a dive bar (I like the Raven, Red Derby, Marx Cafe, 18th Street Lounge, TNT, Looking Glass Lounge etc etc,) enjoying a glass of wine on some rooftop or watching a play. Or maybe hosting a dinner party. Listening to or telling stories.
The most private thing I’m willing to admit
I’m an empty essay… fill me out!
I have never seen a full episode of Seinfeld.
