Books: 100 Years of Solitude, Everything is Illuminated, many
attempts at Infinite Jest, The world According to Garp, House of
Spirits, The Brief and Wonderous Life of Oscar Wao, actually
anything Junot Diaz has ever touched, Windup Bird Chronicles, and
many more! I also love poetry, especially Richard Brautigan, Frank
O'Hara, Billy Collins and Pablo Neruda.
Movies: Harold and Maude, Dawn of the Dead, Almost Famous, Amores
Perros, Y Tu Mama Tambien, Grindhouse and Boondock Saints.
Shows: Mad Men, Dexter, Arrested Development, Homeland. OH and
Catfish. That shows is incredible, don't deny it! I would like to
avoid saying that Girls really speaks to me, but I can't. So there.
I said it.
Food: A sweet heirloom tomato in August. Also, sushi, peaches,
cheese, Mexican food, and Pad Thai. Pizza. But who doesn't like
Music, in no particular order: The Smiths, Morrissey, Feist, Stars,
Silvio Rodriguez, Billy Holiday, Vampire Weekend, Rilo Kiley,
Wilco, The National, Leonard Cohen, Fleet Foxes, Grizzly Bear,
Diplo, Jay-Z, Miguel, Nina Simone, Frank Ocean, Ana Tijoux, Fiona
Apple, Macklemore, Modest Mouse, Major Lazer, Radical Face, the
Streets, the XX, Kanye West, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros,
James Blake, and Bon Iver and you know, a lot more, and maybe you
can turn me on to new bands too?
I cannot be without public radio. This American Life, Radiolab and
Prairie Home Companion are regularly on at my house. In a battle
